Thanksgiving For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends. - Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) Continuing Education Program - November 20th We are happy to announce a CE partnership with the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy and the Northern Illinois Society of Health- System Pharmacists. Normally the ICHP/CE programs are limited to their members only; however the program scheduled on November 20th at the College of Pharmacy will now be open to Phi Delta Chi members at no cost. If you happen to be interested in attending, please review the information flyer located in this newsletter and email Ray Traficante to register and reserve a spot for the continuing education program. It is important that you respond on or before 11-15-2014. CPE credit of one hour will be awarded to participants only if you are pre-registered. To receive your CPE credit, you will need to complete the online evaluation forms and then your credit will automatically be reported to CPE Monitor. Information on accessing the online evaluation system will be provided at the CE program. ICHP uses CESally to track and report CE activity to the ACPE monitor site. Once you receive an email confirmation of your registration from Ray Traficante, please make every effort to attend. There are expenses for food and CE certificates for which the college and host organizations are responsible. We are sorry for the short notice regarding this CE Program at the College of Pharmacy. Our thanks goes out to the Northern Illinois Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the College of Pharmacy. If you wish to become a member of ICHP Click on the link below http://www.ichpnet.org/ Smoker 9-19-2014 This year s Smoker was held at the Pompei Restaurant located on Taylor Street near the UIC campus. PAGE 3 POST-SCRIPT VOLUME 18 ISSUE 5 Phi Delta Chi Continuing Education Fund The Phi Delta Chi - Alpha Sigma Chapter Alumni Association is happy to announce that we have officially teamed up with the University of Illinois Chicago - College of Pharmacy to deliver quality Continuing Education Programs for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. We hope to be able to provide these CE programs at no cost to those in attendance. As many of you are aware, our alumni association was able to sponsor many CE programs in the past with the help of major pharmaceutical companies and speakers from the College of Pharmacy. The ACPE accredited programs have become costly and Big Pharma sponsorship has become almost non-existent. The alumni chapter hopes to continually participate with the UIC College of Pharmacy by establishing the UIC COP Phi Delta Chi Continuing Education Fund. This fund will be used to support education, lectures and programs for pharmacists, technicians and students. When fully endowed, the earnings generated would be available in the form of a grant to help defer the costs encountered when presenting a CE Program co-sponsored with the UIC College of Pharmacy. For those wishing to donate to this fund please click on the secure link below to be directed to the University of Illinois Foundation. Then in the box indicated as other type in UIC COP Phi Delta Chi Continuing Education Fund. All donations are tax deductible. http://www.pharmgiving.uic.edu Coming Events (Mark Your Calendars) The future endowment process of the Phi Delta Chi CE Fund will be a large undertaking. We hope that with everyone's help we will reach our endowment goal of $25,000. This is a great way of giving back to the college and the fraternity.
