3 Approved provider status does not imply endorsement of any product by MPHI- CEPU, MDCH, ANCC, OBN or ONA of any products displayed in conjunction with an activity. Continuing Medical Education Requirements This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Accreditation Elements and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of William Beaumont Hospital and Michigan Public Health Institute. William Beaumont Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. William Beaumont Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Medical Assistants Continuing Education Requirements This program has been granted prior approval by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for 8.0 continuing education units. Granting approval in no way constitutes endorsement by the AAMA of the program content or the program s sponsor. Nursing Continuing Education Requirements This continuing nursing education activity was awarded a maximum 6.0 nursing contact hours. Michigan Public Health Institute Continuing Education Provider Unit (OH-320, 6/1/2016) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN ), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. Pharmacy Continuing Education Requirements This activity is structured to meet knowledge-based educational needs and acquires factual knowledge. Information in knowledge-type activities is based on evidence as accepted in the literature by the health care professions. Pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit will be earned based on participation in this activity. Attendance and participation are required before obtaining PCE credit. Any individual who is more than 10 minutes late to an activity or leaves an activity early will not be granted PCE credit. This procedure will be strictly enforced, so please plan accordingly. Participants must complete an activity evaluation and posttest with a passing score of 70 percent or greater. If all requirements are met, participants will receive pharmacy continuing education credit in the following manner. Partial credit will not be awarded. Please allow 60 days for processing.
4 Pharmacists: CPE Monitor, a national, collaborative effort by ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists to track their completed PCE credits, went into effect on Jan. 1. MPA, as an ACPE-accredited provider, is required to report pharmacist PCE credit using this new tracking system. Pharmacist participants must provide their NABP e-profile identification number and date of birth (in MMDD format) when they register for a CPE activity or complete activity evaluations. It will be the responsibility of the pharmacist to provide the correct information (i.e., e-profile identification number and date of birth in MMDD format.) If this information is not provided, NABP and ACPE prohibit MPA from issuing CPE credit. Online access to their inventory of completed credits will allow pharmacists to easily monitor their compliance with CPE requirements and print statements of credit. Therefore, MPA will not provide printed statements of credit to pharmacists. ACPE Universal Activity # L01-P Initial Release Date: 4/22/13 Expiration Date: 4/22/ contact hours The Michigan Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. No partial credit can be awarded.
5 CPE Monitor: Have You Obtained Your e-profile ID? New Electronic CE Tracking System for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians What is CPE Monitor? CPE Monitor is a national, collaborative effort by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. It also offers the Boards of Pharmacy the opportunity to electronically authenticate the CPE units completed by their licensees, rather than requiring pharmacists to submit their statements of credit upon request or for random audits. MPA, as an ACPE-accredited provider, is required to submit CPE credit using this new tracking system, which went into effect on Jan. 1, How CPE Monitor Works Pharmacists Pharmacist participants must provide their NABP e-profile identification number and date of birth (in MMDD format) to MPA when they register for a CPE activity or complete activity evaluations. It will be the responsibility of the pharmacist to provide the correct information (i.e., e-profile identification number and date of birth in MMDD format) to MPA. If this information is not provided, NABP and ACPE prohibit MPA from issuing CPE credit. Online access to their inventory of completed credits will allow pharmacists to easily monitor their compliance with CPE requirements and print statements of credit. Therefore, MPA will not provide printed statements of credit to pharmacists. Please allow 60 days for processing. Pharmacy Technicians The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) does not require certified pharmacy technicians to earn credit through ACPE-accredited activities. As a result, technician activities are approved through MPA s Pharmacy Technician Continuing Education (PTCE) process, which is not ACPE-affiliated and, therefore, MPA will not submit program information to PCE Monitor tracking system for PTCEaccredited activities and they will not be available on CPE Monitor. MPA will provide printed statements of credit will be provided to pharmacy technician participants within 60 days of an activity. Certified pharmacy technicians are still encouraged to go to obtain their NABP e-profile identification number if they plan to participate in ACPE-approved activities of other organizations. Who to Contact Sign up for your NABP e-profile identification number now at MyPCEMonitor.net. Pharmacists or pharmacy technicians with questions regarding their NABP e-profile or CPE Monitor should refer to the NABP Web site at NABP.net; contact NABP Customer Service via at custserv@nabp.net; or call (847)
