2 Introduction to Dashboard Digital Signage Monitoring Software Dashboard was designed as a command and control center through the convenience of a web browser. It affords the system operator a visual display of all players on the network (or a select few) and the condition of each current schedule, network data, and most importantly Status (Good or Bad-Go or No Go). Dashboard also notifies the system operator by should any problem arise as well as problems that are fixed. Furthermore, it performs network-healing function by monitoring select parameters and issuing appropriate corrective action commands from elevating volume controls to complete player reboot to power strip control. How It Works The Dashboard interface is clean and simple to use: NO Each cell represents a player on the digital signage network. 3 Dashboard performs four main functions: System Monitoring Dashboard contains a Watchdog module that maintains constant contact with all players assigned to the network. The module will monitor any number of pre-programmed parameters such as player status, power status, current playlist and more. The module will also monitor connected display device status such as power on/off, audio levels, source selection and more. Any fault determined will immediately result in the Status Bulb turning RED and Status Text indicating NO- in RED a fault also triggers a notification program, which may include ing any number of system operators that a fault has occurred. Error Correction Once a fault has occurred and notifications are complete, Dashboard can be programmed to attempt system repair for example, if a no response condition is indicated on a player, but power appears to be good, the Dashboard will issue a reboot command to the player to attempt recovery. Or, if a monitor reports volume is set to 0, Dashboard can send a command through the player to the monitor to set the volume to expected levels (control of external devices such as monitors requires the device be capable of serial, USB, or network control and is properly connected to the applicable player). Content Management Dashboard contains content management functionality allowing system operators to perform immediate media changes on any individual screen. This is achieved by selecting a media file in the left-hand browser and dragging to a selected cell. Dashboard uploads the content (if necessary) which is immediately integrated into the selected player s set or playlist. The operator has the option to drop the content in any available layer on the player or to open the full set editor to add the content into an existing schedule in a particular time slot. One small example of the importance of this new feature--a VIP guest arrives and the system needs to display a bio and welcome page, the operator need only drag that page to the desired player or players and immediately the proper content is at the proper location.

4 Emergency Management Since dashboard is in constant communication with all players on the network and has the capability to change the content on all players, it was a natural progression to add Emergency Management to the application. The system administrators may design as many emergency scenarios and reactions deemed necessary and create custom buttons on the Dashboard interface to immediately trigger those scenarios. For example, if used on a cruise ship, evacuate fore and evacuate aft might be scenarios to include should an emergency occur at the front of the ship, all digital signage connected could be switched to emergency scenario one in which arrows point the way to evacuate and away from harm. The system may also be connected to existing emergency equipment and react to programmed scenarios as well (fire alarm systems, etc ). Scalability Traffic Manager Dashboard is designed to be infinitely scalable. It is efficient for one operator to monitor a system from their web browser or a group of system administrators to monitor from a command center. Dashboard is a turnkey monitoring solution for MediaZone players and other devices (monitors, lights, power strips, (even competing media players) that no signage network with a need to for maximum power and reliability should be without.
