Did I remember to close the French doors to the patio last night or are they only tilted? And as such an open invitation to intruders? In order to be sure, the only thing to do is to open the door, go back inside and check each window upstairs and downstairs to make sure you haven t forgotten one... Wouldn t it be more assuring if, before you left the house, you could check at a glance whether all windows were closed or not? SecuSignal, HOPPE s new window handle generation with integrated radio technology without the need for wiring or batteries can offer you just that! 3 How does SecuSignal work? Open, tilted or closed? SecuSignal shows you what you should know about your windows and doors! SecuSignal offers ease and security through the central, radio-based surveillance of the status of windows and French doors via the handle. The SecuSignal system consists of at least one SecuSignal handle with transmitter and the SecuSignal receiver. The transmitter works totally without the need for wiring or batteries and is totally maintenance-free. The SecuSignal transmitter needs no wiring or batteries. living roof-window window The energy needed is generated with the help of a patented system* as the SecuSignal handle is turned. The SecuSignal transmitter is completely maintenance-free! In order to obtain high transmission reliability the radio signal is repeated several times at short intervals as a handle is operated. The range in a building is up to 30 meters, depending on the type of building itself (see page 11). Thanks to its sophisticated technology SecuSignal utilizes low transmitting energy, which makes it harmless with regard to electromagnetic pollution. It goes without saying that SecuSignal is CE-approved. French doors balcony door It is so easy to replace an old handle with a new SecuSignal handle and does not take more than a few minutes (see page 5). Once the receiver is ready for use (230 V mains connection and it s done!) and the handle is programmed the transmitter sends the position of the handle to the receiver, as the handle is operated hence the state of your window or French door. The LEDs on its two-digit display show you the state of the window or French door and the room concerned. At the same time this is also stored there. 4 How does SecuSignal work? The receiver can deal with up to 128 SecuSignal radio transmitters, a maximum 99 of which can be linked in freely programmable groups (e.g. all living room windows, bedroom windows etc.) and recognised by the receiver. On the two-digit display you can then see at a glance where an open window might be a problem. When turned, the SecuSignal window handle sends out a radio signal saying window handle in group 9 (bedroom) open to the central receiver. If greater distances need to be covered, signal amplifier have to be installed (see page 11). bedroom kitchen/dining room study The receiver registers and stores the radio signal. The number of the room is shown on the display (in this case 9 for the group of windows in the bedroom) and the red light appears, warning you that a window in the bedroom is open. 5 How is SecuSignal installed? Easy to fit and maintenance-free, SecuSignal comes in HOPPE brand quality (with the example of a SecuSignal window handle) The SecuSignal system consists of at least one SecuSignal window handle with a radio transmitter without the need for batteries and a receiver. As with all HOPPE door and window handles, this brand-name product also comes with a 10-year operational guarantee. Slightly lift the cover plate and turn it to the side. 9 Even more security by means of the SecuSignal radio set You have a lift/slide door and on leaving your home you want to be sure that it is not just pushed to or even half-open but locked. This is where the SecuSignal radio set can help. The further development of the SecuSignal system to keep watch over your lift/slide doors consists of a new SecuSignal lift/slide door handle and a window/door contact with solar energy accumulator without the need for batteries. It is through the combined use of both, and the joint signal from the lift/slide door handle and the window/door contact, that the current status of your lift/slide door is shown. The window/door contact, which is easily, quickly and unobtrusively glued or screwed onto the door frame, sends information about the status of the lift/slide door leaf to the SecuSignal receiver by radio. The window/door contact is supplied with energy by a solar cell and is completely maintenance-free storing this energy for night-time use. At the same time, information about the locking status of the slide door leaf is sent from the lift/slide door handle to the receiver by a radio signal. 11 SecuSignal Accessories Notes on radio range planning Radio signals, in connection with SecuSignal technology, too, are electro-magnetic waves, whose signal can be diminished on the way from the transmitter to the receiver, i.e. both the electrical and the magnetic field strength are reduced. In addition to these natural range restrictions, other interference factors, such as the metal parts in armouring in walls, the metal foils as used in heat insulation or heat-absorbing glass tempered with metal, reflect electromagnetic waves. While radio waves can penetrate walls, reduction in signal is greater than without them. These catch the SecuSignal radio signal from the window or the lift/slide door handle and send it on to the SecuSignal receiver. You can see a selection of SecuSignal repeaters on the right at the top. A mobile field strength tester can be used in planning radio ranges. This can be used to determine the optimum position of the receiver. The tester is positioned in the desired place for the receiver and the SecuSignal handle activated.
