18 Masdar s Review Lessons Learnt and Actions The market today has changed due to the fallout from the global economic crisis Masterplan review against the vision for Masdar City Re-assessment of the real estate mix and phasing for the changed market Masdar is embarking on a phased approach which will allow to integrate new technologies Change of Public Transport; Limited the PRT to Masdar Institute as an ongoing pilot project Revised delivery timeline -Phase 1 will be completed by 2015 and final build out by Knowledge gained Masdar City systems to be linked with Abu Dhabi s efforts to gain required economies of scale Public Transportation systems to be scalable and affordable Utilities to meet Abu Dhabi regulatory requirements Recognition of the impacts of a high, hyper-saline ground water table Build to demand instead of build to schedule Build out to self contained neighborhoods 36
