The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada is a building trades union made up of approximately 300,000 highly-skilled members who work on piping systems all across the United States and Canada. Earn While You Learn As a college graduate you will look forward to years of paying off student loans without the guarantee of employment in the field you have chosen. Hopefully you will have some sort of health and welfare benefits. As an apprentice a career in the pipe trades offers all of that without cost or tuition. There is a minimal book fee each semester.

As you work on the job, you will be required to attend 216 hours a year of apprenticeship classes.
