1 CONTRACTORS WANTED The Affordable Housing and Rehabilitation Division is seeking qualified contractors to participate in their Single Family/Mobilehome Repair, and Mobilehome Replacement Programs. The work may involve, but is not limited to, roofing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, lead based paint abatement, mold and asbestos material removal, removal of old mobilehomes, preparing lot for installation of new mobilehome. Contractor selection will be made from an approved contractor list. To be placed on the approved contract list, general contractors shall submit an application with the requested supporting documentation. Approved contractors will be requested to bid on projects as they become available. In accordance with Public Contract Code, Sections and 22036, the District is inviting all licensed contractors to submit information to incorporate on a list of qualified bidders for the 2012 calendar year. The District s list may automatically include the names of all contractors who submitted one or more valid bids to the Santa Barbara Unified School District during the preceding calendar year. A contractor may have his firm added to the Santa Barbara Unified School District's list at any time by providing the required information.

4 CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act The Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act is under the umbrella of the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Commission (CUPPCCAC) and provides for alternative bidding procedures when an agency performs public project work by contract. (a) Public projects of $30,000 or less may be performed by negotiated contract or by purchase order (PCC 22032(a)). (b) Public projects of $175,000 or less may be let to contract by the informal procedures set forth in the Act (PCC 22032(b)). (c) Public projects of more than $175,000 shall be let to contract by formal bidding procedures) PCC 22032(c)). In November of each year, participating Districts place an ad in various construction trade journals inviting all interested licensed contractors to submit the name of their firm to the District for inclusion on the District s list of qualified bidders for the following calendar year. The Santa Barbara Unified School District has completed all the necessary requirements to participate in this alternative bidding process and solicits your firm to register.
