6 Introduction This document contains information on the changes between PRECISION Parcel Shipping Service Pack #S28 (initial release) and between PRECISION Parcel Shipping Service Pack #S29 6

7 Application Enhancements Black Box ProcessSPSResponse changes - Correct the value returned for the BuyerReference field it was previously returning the Order Reference value - Convert the PreferredService to an external service value, if such a mapping exists - Additional fields ProcessedByServer and ProcessedByListener to assist with identifying the machine and listener that processed the message Black Box Guide Message Fields - ProcessSPSResponse.xls Black Box ShipShipment changes - Catch when the StateProvinceCode is too long, and block this during parsing - Extend numeric formatting for ItemOrderLine and ItemOrderNumber - Correct PortOfDelivery name to PlaceOfDestination - Additional user-defined fields for Items, Packages, Shipment etc (these all have naming convention of CustUserDefined.) 8 Black Box Additional Changes - For the retry logic for the try processing an XML message multiple times, ensure that the logic picks up the correct error message for returning to the calling application. - Allow routing guide functionality from S28, for the determination of latest ship date, to be exposed through black-box messages - When filtering out the results of a rate-shop, and determine that the ETA time value is only applicable in the context of the specific ETA date (i.e. an ETA time of 14:00 should not exclude results with an ETA date of the previous day) - Don t default the number of copies to print to be 1 for a shipment document as it may be required for the Locale/Document setup to take precedence - If a distribution list has been attached onto a shipment/document then don t remove this distribution list, unless there is a specific number of copies requested for printing - Default duty payment method to Consignee Pays Duty, if this is not already filled End of Day Screen (SPSEOD) - Allow plug-in point for EOD validation, whereby customer-specific validation logic can be written to validate whether a shipment should be part of a batch or not - Revised formatting of message for sending to recipients regarding notification of outbound shipments - Display the description from option LN for the packing location selected LTL Check Digits Added No new additions in this version For full list of supported LTL check digits, see: Topic Supported TL-LTL Carriers.xls 8

9 LTL Additional Changes - Allow weight to be formatted correctly on the LTL label, to take account of decimals - Allow LTL label to be printed as a PDF document - Corrections for consolidations when checking to see if existing consolidation for same consignee address (remove trailing spaces, for comparison of fields) Rating Engine Fixes and Modifications - Allow for an Average Pack Weight, whereby the weight of a shipment can be determined from this value. For example, if there are 10 packages on a shipment, with an average pack weight of 15, then the weight of the shipment (based on average pack weight) would be 150. The higher of Actual Weight vs Dimensional Weight vs Total Weight per Average Pack Weight, is used with the appropriate rate. Rate and Transit Time Maintenance Fixes and Modifications - Allow minimum value to only be set up for a service if it based on Yellow Freight or based on another existing service. - Capture errors regarding invalid handles for lookups for state codes etc. - Allow Excel upload option for Legacy (TH) rate structure to have more available columns during upload - Correct searches for rating zones in Legacy (TH) rate structure for GB postal codes, as these must consider the alpha postal codes different to other postcodes - Improve performance for upload of transit time data - All existing service/transit time associations are set to inactive before load of transit times for services that already have these transit times previously loaded Rating Screen (Windows) Fixes and Modifications - Only update the Country / City of Destination on the shipment if the Ship To address is the Consignee address (i.e. not just a Deliver To address) 9

10 - Show the Internal Tracking number (e.g. Bear Tracks) on the package browser - Allow fields to be updated when the shipment is at an Interim status Routing Guide Modifications and Fixes - If the Min transit time is updated, then the Max transit time may also be affected - Take account of Cut-off times to determine what is the Ship Date for a service when it is being shopped - Allow logic to determine the Required Ship Date to be able to meet the Required Delivery Date. Show the Estimated Ship Date in the ctrax results - Allow Required Delivery date to be determined by the Preferred Service - For rate shopping results, convert all results to a base currency for accurate comparisons across a single currency - Using the Routing Assignment task, then shop the service even if there is one preferred service returned, so that the result will return the transit time and ETA date for this service - Corrections for the usage of Required Delivery Start / End Time values, to ensure that when the Time Value is used as a filter that it is only used for same-day comparisons (i.e. should not check the ETA Time if the ETA Date is prior to the required date) - Allow weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) to be considered as Transit Days only if they are flagged as such on the RT record for the service otherwise they are considered to be non-transit days. - Allow routing assignment to assign a service based on its priority value AFTER shopping has been applied. (e.g two services with the same ETA date could be separated by whichever is the higher priority) - When rate-shopping for an inducted location, then the ship from address should be picked up from the inducted address for the carrier (not the address on the shipment) - If the ETA Time is 24:00, then set this to 23:59 for comparison purposes, so that filters can be applied on services that must be delivered by end-of-day - Allow the sequence of Routing Assignment task to be prioritised (Cheapest, Fastest, Cheapest And Fastest) (Default is Cheapest) 10

13 Carrier Specific Airborne Domestic 1. Now obsolete as DHL no longer supporting US Domestic shipping BAX Global Bear Tracks (Star Receiver) (First Mile / Last Mile Tracking) 1. Extended Bear River integration to now be compatible with Bear Tracks application. This includes new label format. (note: Requires updated Y2 records and macros, if used) Chronopost 1. Tracking number and barcode field values have been switched in the application (SXTRKNO and PKBARCODE). The values required to be switched for tracking and invoice matching purposes Chrono Expres Ciblex 1. PLD File naming convention changed to be in line with Ciblex requirements. 13

Allow Shipper Account number to be suppressed from printing on labels 3. Print the Total Weight instead of the package weight on multi-piece shipments for non-us origin 4. Only print one label for Mexico domestic shipments 5. Allow IPD master shipments to be separated by packing location, even for the same port 6. Ensure non multi-occurrence hazmat fields are not output as multi-occurrence fields when passed to the FedEx server in the interface transaction 7. Yukon state to be validated as YK instead of YI 8. When invoice value is used as declared value it should not include charges etc 9. When shipping domestically for Canada Ground, do not map the currency code field 16

17 10. Do not pass the number of packages (field 116) for multi-piece shipments (causes issue on the FedEx server in other back-end processes) 11. Improve performance through indexes on temp-tables used in the integration programs 12. Reduce scope of locking on system value during FedEx EOD process 13. Allow calculation of transit times for services, where transit times can be provided to Precision in Excel file format 14. Set the ETA Time based on the Service Commitment codes/areas returned by FedEx server 15. Additional services for Mexico origin Geodis GLS 1. Also, updates for the current set of supported services for this carrier 2. Change the naming convention for charge tables referenced for this carrier integration, to allow for extended services. This may require corrections on some customer sites if rating is no longer possible using old charge table naming convention. Contact the SPS group if there are issues 3. Allow validation of service per destination postcode, and calculate the expected transit time per destination Mory Parcelforce 18

19 Parceline (and Parceline DPD) Purolator (Legacy US origin) 1. Allow for long contact names to be handled Purolator (New World CA origin) 1. This is a newly certified integration for CA origin shippers. This integration will be transitioned into all existing Purolator integrations, where the shipper origin country is Canada. This can exist in the same environment where a Legacy integration is also in place (which may be the case for implementations which have US and CA shippers). This integration requires new PSL file data to be installed. Royal Mail Swedish Post (Posten) 1. Correction for the FTP transmission of the file, to switch into the appropriate destination directory first 19

20 2. Correct codepage output on the XML file produced for EOD 3. Trim output on fields, where applicable, for XML file produced for EOD 4. Allow for long addresses to be output 5. Remove nodes from the XML file that are no longer required TNT Express Manager version 1. Allow for dim weight factor to be configurable 2. Allow for Sender Depot and Carrier ID to be output through interface 3. Allow for customer-specific reference to be mapped as the unique identifier through polling files. This requires different configuration on TNT back-end as it impacts on the handshake file naming convention required to ensure the uniqueness of the filename. This functionality allows customer reference to print in the Reference section of the label instead of having to print in the Special Instructions section 4. Allow for Germany Shuttle services (services 642 and 645) to be handled 5. Allow for Singapore services (SDNI and S87) to be handled 6. Add transit time functionality, by making call to TNT URL to retrieve transit time for international shipping. Domestic transit time is managed through the upload of Excel files. Also capture the ETA time. 7. Validate service selection via call to PriceChecker function on TNT back-end 8. Allow for Remote Area Surcharge and Customs Clearance surcharge calculation 9. Improved rating functionality for weight breaks that increment by varying values (e.g. per 0.5 Kg, per 1 Kg, per 100 Kg etc) 10. Allow configurable delay factor for the output of the semaphore file in case of issue with writing to disk 11. First draft of Express Manager Extension integration (currently work-inprogress and testing). This will be an XML-based interface, rather than polling file integration. 20

21 TNT iconnections version TNT Innight Trans-o-flex UPS 1. Output printer control information in a smaller font 2. Allow for Canada origin integration (note: This requires additional PSL files). This is currently in certification process, but can be rolled out on a customerapproval basis as an interim measure, where required 3. Allow for France origin integration (note: This requires additional XML records, and PSL file for rates/zones) 4. Allow for Ireland origin integration (note: This requires additional XML records, and PSL file for rates/zones) 5. Certification process for US origin for 2009 revisions based on any new rules for mapping of data etc 6. Correction of dim weight factor for EU countries and some Asia countries (CN, SG, HK) to have dim factor as 5000 instead of 6000, for Air services 21

22 7. New functionality for Additional Handling calculation for Asia countries (CN, SG, HK), for when Additional Handling is applicable based on dimensions 8. Additional functionality on the correct payment type to indicate to UPS on the back-end when different payment method combinations are selected for Freight and Duty 9. Allow for calculation of duty/forwarding charge for non-eu destination countries 10. Correction for ETA time for Next Day Saver and 2AM services 11. Set the ETA time to be 24:00 for Ground services, and also for International services 12. Calculation of Saturday Delivery surcharge changed to be per Package for US origin, and per Shipment for non-us origin 13. When rating per unit, then unit must first be rounded up to a whole number 14. Remove calculation of hazmat charge for Dry Ice shipments (where no other hazmat products are in the shipment) UPS-SCS (formerly Menlo Forwarding and Emery Forwarding) USPS 1.
