The self-paced course can be used as on onboarding tool for new employees or a safety refresher for current staff. Learners are provided with an opportunity to explore different functional areas of a hotel, including the lobby, front desk, guestrooms, maintenance department, food & beverage, and the perimeter of the property. In each area, they can learn about a variety of topics, such as chemical safety, fire prevention, key control and guest privacy, and many more. The learner receives feedback during each level of the simulation, with an overall scorecard at the completion of the simulation. The 30-minute course explains the risks trafficking can pose to properties, provides a list of signs and behaviors that may indicate child trafficking, and offers steps to respond to the situation in ways that minimize risk. 6 SECURITY SHOWCASE VIDEOS Housekeeping- Stay Safe Awareness Training 2002, 29 minutes Housekeepers are the eyes and ears of any lodging property, so their awareness is the first line of defense against safety and security risks as long as they are properly trained. This training program alerts and prepares housekeeping staff for that responsibility, including: Key, room and property control Handling chemicals safely Handling pathogens safely Moving, pushing and lifting properly Following fire and emergency safety procedures 05380DVD03ENGE Human Trafficking 2012, 8 minutes Authorities estimate that between 600,000 and 800,000 people are trafficked across borders every year. Often these victims are lured into a promise of a better life or a job offer, many times involving travel to another country, only to be forced into a situation they are unable to escape from. But why do hotel associates need to know about human trafficking? Law enforcement sources have indicated the illegal transportation of humans from one location to another is often facilitated through the use of hotels as stopover points. Additionally, sexual exploitation has been known to sometimes occur in hotel rooms and hotel lounges. The Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 makes this activity a federal crime in the United States. Many organizations including hotels, airlines and others are stepping up to help combat this growing problem. This video will help associates identify suspicious activity and provide them with instruction on how to proceed with their suspicions DVD01ENSS Lodging Safety Works 2008, 33 minutes Risk management and minimizing liability are top priorities for any lodging property, and this video and companion guide provide a full overview for both employees and supervisors on all the major safety issues, including: Motion safety Fire prevention Chemical care Bloodborne pathogens Machine safety 05230DVD02ENGE Sexual Harassment What Employees Need to Know 2005, 16 minutes Sexual harassment can undermine the productivity, success and morale of any organization. Failure to recognize or respond to such incidents can result in emotional conflicts and damage among coworkers, and costly lawsuits for the property. This video is designed to build awareness for employees of the threat sexual harassment poses to the work environment, and to help prevent future incidents DVD01ENSS Sexual Harassment What Managers Need to Know 2005, 18 minutes This video explains how to handle and respond to complaints and how to recognize potential sexual harassment in the workplace. Information is provided on how to conduct a proper investigation of a sexual harassment complaint. Human resource managers or other personnel involved in the investigation of a sexual harassment complaint will find this to be a helpful guide DVD01ENSS 4 \ or
