13 Capacity Building under Building Canada plan 2007 Building Canada Fund (BCF) Building Canada plan Framewrk Agreements required all PTs t develp a year Lng-Term Infrastructure Plan Up t 1% f each jurisdictin s BCF allcatin was available fr cllabrative prjects - PTs culd use all r nne f this funding fr these types f prjects Of $85M available (1% f BCF), just ver $4M went t cllabrative prjects 3 BCF-MIC prjects ($3.9M) - Feasibility study fr wastewater treatment plant fr Capital Reginal District in BC and Lng-Term Infrastructure Plans fr NS & PEI 14 BCF-CC prjects ($0.5M) - strm sewer studies, water surce studies, research PT Base Fund BCF allcatins fr the territries were administered thrugh the PT Base Fund Training was eligible under cllabrative prjects in the Nrth 14 cllabrative prjects were identified with ttal eligible csts estimated at $14M Prjects identified included planning studies, climate change research, and lngrange water system capital imprvement plan 13

14 Capacity Building under the Gas Tax Fund Existing FPT agreements require municipalities t develp Integrated Cmmunity Sustainability Plans (ICSPs) and Capital Investment Plans (CIPs) ver life f agreements Planning csts were eligible under Capacity Building investment categry Training eligible in territries (e.g., water treatment plant peratr, financial planner) Over $71M spent t date n ~1,500 Capacity Building prjects such as: Develpment, cnsultatin and implementatin f ICSPs Feasibility studies Acquisitin f asset management sftware Engineering studies 14

15 Asset Management Prjects New intelligence systems fr infrastructure management - City f Cambridge, Regin-wide strategy t upgrade water systems- Fraser Valley Reginal District The Reginal Municipality f Prince Albert used their Gas Tax funding t g ne step further while cmpiling an inventry f their tangible capital assets. 15
