1 SANDRA P. SMITH, AIA, LEED -AP BACKGROUND Sandy Smith joined TRO Jung Brannen in 1971 to head housing design. During her career here, she has designed more than 2,000 units of housing across a broad spectrum of programs which includes congregate care, elderly communities, townhouse developments, urban luxury residences and resort communities. She has expanded her base expertise in housing design into an equally impressive resume of hotel work. Ms. Smith is also knowledgeable in building renovation, both historic and adaptive reuse, and recently completed managing the transformation of Boston's signature landmark, The Custom House Tower, into vacation residences for Marriott. Phase II is also being planned for a discovery center and structured parking facility. Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute Cambridge, Massachusetts Interior design of a new 60,000 square foot culinary college. Project includes classrooms, teaching kitchens, conference areas, administrative offices and a full service restaurant. Lodge at Lincoln Peak Warren, Vermont Designed new lodge, conference center, spa, fitness center for Sugarbush Resort. Marriott's Custom House Tower Renovation Renovation and adaptive reuse of signature landmark building into 72 luxury vacation ownership residences. Project includes public museum and observation deck, as well as function rooms and lounges for the residents. Omni Parker House Two-story addition to historic Boston hotel featuring conference and function area and reorganization of entry lobby. Private Residence Weston, Massachusetts 20,000 square foot private residence with attached three car garage. Grounds included heated outdoor pool, pool house and extensive landscaping. Project also included a detached tennis house with associated tennis court. Museum Towers Housing at North Point Cambridge, Massachusetts High-rise residential towers incorporating 435 units of rental housing, a 490-car parking garage and amenities such as retail space and health club. Horwitz Residence Beverly, Massachusetts Renovation of a 20,000 square foot Georgian mansion on the ocean front. South Cove Nursing Home A 40,000 square foot, three-story 100-bed nursing home facility with activities room and treatment and therapy facilities. Enclosed Asian garden courtyard on ground floor; roof terrace. Boston Preservation Alliance Preservation Achievement The Victorian Society of America Preservation Commendation Blue Ridge Estates Richmond, Virginia A VHA/HUD housing project of 182 units of family and elderly housing: 48 one-bedroom units, 96 two-bedroom units, 28 three-bedroom units, 10 four-bedroom units. Units are divided into 49 low-density buildings grouped around naturally landscaped courtyards on a 53.4-acre wooded site. A two-story, 5,800 square foot community center with recreational facilities services the project. Blake Estates I & II, Hyde Park A MHFA/HUD housing project of 263 elderly and handicapped housing units on 5.2-acre site. Residential units are grouped around landscaped courtyards with interconnecting corridors. Section I: 175 one-bedroom units. Section II: 88 one- and two-bedroom units. Bay State Place Springfield, Massachusetts A HUD housing project of 347 units for mixed and handicapped occupancy: 265 one-bedroom units, 23 efficiency units, 59 two-bedroom units. Whittier Terrace Conversion Worcester, Massachusetts Incorporation of four and five-story warehouse renovation with new construction component for 115 elderly and handicapped housing units. Infill sites support 48 new townhouse units for family housing. Amenities include community center in warehouses, ball field, at-grade covered parking for 43 cars and open parking for 84 cars. Total 152,500 square feet Palmer Green Estates Palmer, Massachusetts A MHFA/HUD housing project of 156 units of elderly, family and handicapped units, including two three-bedroom passive-solar townhouses; community building with solar panels for hot water; parking for 234 cars. 6 Randolph, Massachusetts A HUD housing project of 160 congregate elderly housing units in a three-story complex; 40 efficiencies, 111 one-bedroom and eight onebedroom handicapped units; one two-bedroom for the manager; 40 efficiencies of 415 square feet Incorporates landscaped courtyard, raised deck, patio/lounge, multi-purpose dining area, ongrade parking. Two-thirds of the 16-acre site remains natural woodland and conservation land. John W. Weeks House Conversion Newton, Massachusetts Total rehabilitation/conversion of an existing school into 75 units of elderly, family and handicapped housing: eight three-bedroom family units, 23 two-bedroom and 44 one-bedroom elderly/handicapped units. Building was put on the National Register of Historic places. Foster Living Center, Brandeis University Waltham, Massachusetts Thirty-six residential units clustered around landscaped courtyards: 12 four-bedroom units, 20 six-bedroom units, four handicapped units. Quincy Tower Elderly Housing, Chinatown A MHFA/HUD housing project of 162 units for elderly and handicapped in a 16-story building: 147 one-bedroom units, one two-bedroom unit, 14 one-bedroom handicapped units; 2,500 square foot day care center. Brandeis University Graduate Student Housing Waltham, Massachusetts Thirty-six residential units clustered around landscaped courtyards: 12 four-bedroom units, 20 six-bedroom units, four handicapped units. 7 Lynn, Massachusetts 116 units of elderly and handicapped housing in a 9-story building: 108 one-bedroom units, eight one-bedroom handicapped units. COMMERCIAL/OFFICE Schlumberger Labs Cambridge, Massachusetts Full interior design services for 180,000 square foot research laboratories in new buildto-suit headquarters. Program includes specialized laboratories and accommodations for vibration control and heavy equipment on 3 floors; showcase laboratories as part of their visitor program; central collaboratory for visiting researchers; private offices; 220-seat auditorium; conference rooms; and full service cafeteria and fitness center. 22 Boston Wharf Road Complete design and construction administration services for approximately 50,000 square feet of office space for new offices of TRO Jung Brannen. Raytheon Headquarters Waltham, Massachusetts New design of 147,000 square foot executive headquarters in a suburban campus. Fidelity Investments Merrimack, New Hampshire Full architectural and interior design services for 260,000 square foot general office space and data center on existing corporate campus. Greater Boston Legal Services Ongoing services involving space needs assessment and evaluation of tenant relocation options for approximately 80,000 square foot office space. National Consumer Law Center 22,000 tenant improvement project at 7 Winthrop Square in Boston s financial district. 300 Concord Road Billerica, Massachusetts Fast-track renovation and addition to existing campus development. Project includes renovation, while under occupancy, of 168,000 square foot, 4-story office building and demolition and new construction of 200,000 square foot class A office building. Tenant fit-ups ongoing. Stillings Street Garage/Office This six-level 250,000 square foot parking structure for 570 cars is designed in the vernacular of the surrounding mercantile warehouse district. The eight-story building is topped by two floors of office space.

9 UNUM Life Insurance, Home Office 5 Portland, Maine Design of a 220,000 square foot, 4-story office building located on existing campus. Project includes general and executive office space, cafeteria, auditorium, and child care facilities. Board of Trade Building Renovation Comprehensive development options for the renovation of an 11-story 1901 office building. Current work includes facade repair and restoration. Trans National Travel Corporate Offices Renovation and consolidation of three existing buildings into a 100,000 square foot headquarters. The project includes the interior renovation of 4,000 square feet of executive office space. G.E. Plastics Group Customer Service Center Pittsfield, Massachusetts A 125,000 square foot, world headquarters and showcase for plastics operations. Includes laboratories, research and development, video conferencing, CAD/CAM, and administrative office facilities. Customer Service Center was converted from high bay research/warehouse space to multi split level service center.
