2 ABOUT US QUALITY ASSURANCE Maine Biotechnology Services, Inc. (MBS) is an industry leader in antibody discovery, development and production. Services provided at MBS include bacterial recombinant production, monoclonal and polyclonal antibody development, and antibody production via mouse ascites or in vitro technology. Post-processing services offered include antibody purification, characterization and assay development. MBS has been privately owned and operated in New England since 1990, and our customers can count on the stability and longevity of our organization. We continue to utilize our experience and proprietary protocols to meet the continually evolving needs of diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies. Most recently, we have partnered with pharmaceutical companies in their quest to meet regulatory assay requirements for monitoring novel therapeutics, often through the development of anti-idiotypic antibodies. Regardless of the application, MBS maintains customer service and communication as our paramount priorities. All products manufactured at MBS comply with cgmp quality standards and Regulation (EU) 142/2011. Compliance with this regulation allows MBS products to be shipped into European Union countries. MBS manufactures antibodies that are used in commercially available immunoassay procedures. MBS is committed to production, purification and antibody testing that meets Quality System Regulations (QSR). Our facility has been reviewed and approved by the Office for Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW), located at the National Institutes of Health, in compliance with the Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. All protocols are IACUC reviewed. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MBS applies innovative hybridoma development tools to in-house development of new antibody products, available in bulk to researchers and IVD manufacturers. In recent years, we have significantly increased our R&D facilities in an effort to offer a growing catalog of quality antibodies with the best possible technical collateral and price flexibility critical for our diagnostic customers. MBS extends the creativity and experience necessary for more complex hybridoma development projects, including small molecules and anti-idiotypic. Tools such as MultiPure technology and Octet Red kinetic analysis are utilized to allow customers the opportunity to refine their clone selection earlier in the process. 7 cgmp In Vitro Production and Purification MBS offers in vitro cell culture production of monoclonal antibody in roller bottles. Our cgmp facility can accommodate 1L to 100L volumes per lot, generating milligram to gram quantities of antibody. Media formulations containing low IgG fetal bovine serum, serum-free media, or animal component-free media can be used for productions upon request. Productions are designed to limit the introduction of endotoxin. Murine IgG antibodies are purified by protein A gradient elution, resulting in highly pure antibody with little to no aggregation. CUSTOM SERVICES cgmp Ascites Production and Purification MBS offers in vivo antibody production of hybridoma cell lines in our cgmp facility. Antibody productions through mouse ascites provides customers with a cost-effective option for large scale antibody productions. Production parameters are customizable and MBS ascites production technicians follow carefully regulated operating procedures. Murine IgG antibodies are purified by protein A gradient elution, resulting in highly pure antibody with little to no aggregation. Mycoplasma Decontamination Decontaminate mycoplasma-positive hybridoma cell lines in vivo in 4-5 weeks. Cells are expanded and injected into 3 mice for clearance of the contamination. The cells are retrieved from the peritoneal cavity of the mouse and retested for mycoplasma. Once confirmed negative, the cells are subcloned to monoclonality and screened against the specific antigen. Monoclonal Antibody Characterization Determination of an antibody s unique characteristics is essential in the development of a successful assay.
