7 Paging System Basics Sending Pages by Telephone *60 VRU (Voice Response Unit): Numeric Messages Only QUICK TIP: WHEN PAGING AN ATTENDING, ALWAYS USE A 7 OR 10 DIGIT CALL BACK #, MOST ATTENDINGS CARRY SMART PHONES AND IT MAKES IT Dial *60 from any VCUMC phone Or from any other phone Enter the MUCH 4 Digit EASIER TO Pager RETURN ID YOUR when prompted PAGE. Enter your call back number or numeric message & press the # key Wait for system to confirm and then press the # key again Important!!

8 Paging System Basics Sending Pages by Telephone *65 Speech Recognition Paging Numeric Messages Only Dial *65 from any VCUMC phone Or from any other phone Speak the name of the person you wish to page when prompted Speak your call back number Wait for system to confirm and say yes to confirm and send message Speech Recognition will route your call to Telepage If it is unable to recognize the name after 2 attempts

9 Paging System Basics Changing your Paging Status by Telephone Paging Status determines if you can be paged Dial *61 from any VCUMC phone or from any other phone Enter your pager ID when prompted The system will tell you your current status & prompt you for a new status code: PRIMARY STATUS CODES: 2 = In Hospital on page 7 = Out of Hospital, unavailable Enter your new status code and press # If you are changing to a pageable code from a non-pageable code Press * to see if you have any messages
