I am responsible for the entire campus and its daily operations functions. Responsibilities include; all campus facilities, academic, professional, and support staff, and all instructional programs. I serve as the primary contact for the campus within the college district and the community, and oversee forty-five institutional budgets totaling $5.3 Million and various grant budgets that total $3 Million. Provide educational leadership to faculty and staff in all credit academic and Career and Technical programs offered at the Northwest Campus, various laboratories that support the instructional programs, thirty Full-time Professors, approximately one hundred Adjunct faculty, ten full-time staff, and approximately thirty part-time staff members. Oversee campus facilities and serve as the primary contact person for the campus within the college district and the community. Provide administrative leadership to the Library that serves as a college library and as the Northwest Community Library through a partnership with the City of El Paso and the El Paso Public Library system to provide community programming and services. Provide administrative leadership to the Counseling Department that is comprised of two full-time counselors, two part-time counselors, one full-time advisor, one full-time and two part-time staff. Provide administrative leadership to the Distance Education division that is in charge of all courses and services provided through distance delivery for the college district. This division is comprised of five full-time staff and seven part-time staff. Page 1 of 7

2 Page 2 of 12 Created :19:04 CC President, ALCC Achieving the Dream (AtD) Leader College Liaison January 2006 Present Serve as the AtD Leader College Liaison for EPCC reporting directly to the President. Achieving the Dream is a multi-year national initiative to help more community college students succeed. The initiative is particularly concerned about student groups that traditionally have faced significant barriers to success. Report directly to the President Serve as Achieving the Dream (AtD) Leader College Liaison and Student Success Core Team Leader for the college. Serve as the college s contact person with the AtD, Lumina Foundation personnel, AtD Coaches, and other external entities. Coordinated all district-wide college activities related to the four year AtD project funded by the Lumina Foundation to enhance student success working with college personnel from Student Services, Institutional Research, Information Technology, Finance, and Instruction. Assist the President in leading the Student Success Core Team comprised of faculty, staff, and administrators who are charged with overseeing all Student Success initiatives. This team is chaired by the EPCC President, and I assist him by setting the agenda, coordinating the meetings, conducting the meeting in his absence, and following-up on activities discussed at the meetings. Interim Dean for Nursing April 2007 December 2007, and August 2008 July 2009 Served as Interim Dean for Nursing at the Rio Grande Campus for two separate terms while a permanent Dean was hired during which time I provided Administrative leadership for the Nursing Department and oversaw five institutional budgets totaling $1,800,000. Responsibilities and duties included: Provided educational leadership to the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) programs offered at the Rio Grande and Mission del Paso Campuses. Provided administrative leadership to the RN and LVN laboratories to support the instructional programs, twenty full-time Professors, approximately ten Adjunct faculty, five full-time staff, and three part-time staff members. Provided administrative leadership to the Rio Grande Health Clinic to help provide medical services to the community and clinical experiences for the RN and LVN students. This clinic is staffed by one Nurse Practitioner, a visiting nurse from the University of Texas at El Paso, two full-time staff, and two part-time staff members. Provided administrative leadership to the Counseling department at the Rio Grande Campus that is comprised of six full-time counselors, one part-time counselor, one full-time advisor, and three full-time staff and one part-time staff member. American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Program August 2005 August 2006 Participated in the ACE Fellows program which is an intensive one year leadership development program designed to prepare senior leaders by providing the opportunity to spend an extended period of time at another college working directly with the college President. Externship Experiences: Reported to Dr. Charlene Nunley, President, at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland during the fall 2005 semester and shadowed her to all college and community functions. Held monthly meetings with Dr. Nunley to discuss issues at the college and for mentoring purposes. Participated in cabinet meetings. Participated in board executive meetings and regular board meetings. Interviewed top administrators at Montgomery College regarding college initiatives. Page 2 of 7

Internship Experiences: Shadowed Dr. Richard Rhodes, El Paso Community College President, to college and community functions during the spring 2006 semester while returning to my regular duties as Campus Dean of the Northwest Campus. Held monthly meetings with Dr. Rhodes to discuss issues facing the college and as a mentoring process. Participated in cabinet meetings to share experiences and knowledge gained during the externship semester at Montgomery Community College. Oversaw all activities of the Achieving the Dream initiative at El Paso Community College Project Assistant to the Vice President of Instruction January 2000 August 2000 Reported to the Vice President of Instruction. Coordinated and chaired regular monthly meetings for the Enrollment, Retention, and Graduate committee on behalf of the Vice President. Developed an Enrollment, Retention and Graduate plan-of-action for all instructional programs. Collaborated with non-instructional areas to develop a comprehensive Marketing and Retention plan for the college. Division Dean, Public Service and Technology July 1997 August 1999 Reported to the Provost at the Valle Verde Campus. Provided administrative leadership in a decentralized administrative structure with campus-based responsibility and district-wide responsibility for five of the programs in this division. Provided administrative leadership for three major federally funded grant projects dealing with Sign Language Interpreter and Human Services. Provided administrative leadership to twenty-eight full time faculty, approximately fifty adjunct faculty, and twenty staff members in this division. Provided administrative leadership to this division in a decentralized administrative structure. Provided administrative leadership to thirty full-time faculty, approximately seventy part-time faculty, and fifteen staff members in this division. Provided administrative leadership to this division in a centralized administrative structure with district-wide responsibility for credit course offerings in these programs. Prepared self study surveys to be administered to faculty and administrators in response to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) criteria in preparation for the SACS site visit. Compiled the survey results to be utilized in the college s self study report. Acting Division Chair, Computer Based Occupations September 1990 May, 1991 Reported to the Dean for Occupational Programs. Provided administrative and educational leadership to a division comprised of ten programs in the Computer Field in a centralized administrative structure with district-wide responsibility for credit and continuing education courses. TEACHING EXPERIENCE El Paso Community College - El Paso, TX Online Adjunct Professor, Education Department August 2005 Present Course taught: Education 1300: Mastering Academic Excellence. This is a freshmen seminar course to assist students in acquiring a foundation to successfully transition to the college learning environment.
