Pictured (left top photo) is business ethics student Leann Herrera. Herrera is participating with her class presentation as other students critique performance. Students are required to analyze a selected real-life case scenario, extract major key points and present their findings using Power- Point software. Some of the selected cases were: Starbucks, Zappos, Managing the Risks of Global Bribery in Business, Frauds of the entury, Insider Trading at the Galleon Group, and Whole Foods. Business ethics is a required course for all business majors. 3 Luna ommunity ollege furniture and cabinet making instructor Albert Padilla stands by several projects his students worked on this semester. The first is a bench made by Jerry Gallegos; the second is a child s chair made by Susanna Gonzales and the third is a picture frame made by Michael Arguello. Padilla said he will teach a similar class from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays in the spring semester. Among some of the other projects Padilla s students made were: counter tops, closets, wood boxes, cedar chests and television stands. 9 Mike Thomas (light beige shirt) from Rocky Mountain Testing was at Luna ommunity ollege recently to certify students through American Welding Society (AWS). Three of seven students passed the test. A re-test will be conducted in February. AWS is a multifaceted, nonprofit organization with a goal to advance the science, technology and application of welding and related joining disciplines. According to L Welding Instructor, Donnie Adkins, students that earn their AWS certification can apply and get work anywhere in the welding industry.
