This directory provides information about the purpose, membership requirements, and the name of the sponsor/coordinator for each organization. For additional information, contact Diaon M. Cook, Director of Student Activities and Cultural Diversity, in Andalusia campus office Ll23, phone at , or at Adult Re-Entry Club This club is for students who have not been in school for an extended period of time. Adult Re-Entry Club helps the returning students by making them feel at home and comfortable in a new environment. It provides tutors and assistance to help students to succeed in their chosen fields. It is a family-oriented club. There are no dues. Meetings are normally held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, but meetings are occasionally held on different days at different times to accommodate students. Christian Student Ministries This organization is a non-denominational Christian union of students who meet weekly to share Bible study. It is composed of a group of concerned students devoted to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through outreach projects on campus and around the community. During the meetings, members discuss club business and spend time in prayer. Membership in the CSM is easily obtained -- simply come to a meeting. There are no dues or fees. CSM centers on a real family atmosphere. The CSM family includes people from a variety of backgrounds and denominations. 2 2 Civitan is a volunteer service organization. Organized in 1917, Civitan now has 50,000 men, women, and young people in clubs throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Campus Civitan is a program of Civitan International that offers college students a means of personal enhancement and a better understanding of the value of community service. The LBW Club dates back to the first year of the college Civitan members are individuals who desire to learn and share with their fellow students and their community. To become a member of the LBW Civitan, one must complete an approved application form. Anyone is welcome to visit the meeting and ask a current member to sponsor him or her. There are annual dues outlined by Civitan International. For more information about Civitan, contact the club advisor, Kristy White, in office L140 (Andalusia campus) or at , kwhite@lbwcc.edu. Drama Department sponsors several performance opportunities for LBW students throughout the year. Any LBW student can take an acting class or audition for a show. In addition, drama students travel each year performing for children and high school students. For more information about the drama department, contact Eric Lidh, speech/drama instructor, office L142 (Andalusia campus), phone , elidh@lbwcc.edu. Interclub Council is composed of the officers of the Student Government Association and a representative from each club and organization on campus. The Interclub Council meets each semester with the president of the College to discuss issues and concerns of the student body. In addition, the Council plans events that give students a chance to be involved in campus activities. Diaon Cook, council coordinator, can be contacted in office L123, phone or e- mail: dcook@lbwcc.edu for additional information. LBWCC Ambassadors serve as official hosts and hostesses for events held on campus. High school seniors who will be attending LBWCC and any students currently attending LBWCC are eligible to apply. Applicants must complete an application, submit two letters of recommendation, and participate in an interview. LBWCC offers a one-year ambassador's scholarship for twelve credit hours per semester. Students interested in being an Ambassador on the Andalusia campus should contact Diaon M. Cook in office Ll23, phone , dcook@lbwcc.edu for additional criteria for selection. Students interested on MacArthur campus, contact Shannon Lightsey at , slightsey@lbwcc.edu ; on the Greenville campus, contact Breshawn Skinner at , bskinner@lbwcc.edu.
3 3 LBW Ensemble is a show choir and band performance group consisting of twenty-one students. The ensemble performs for elementary, middle, and high schools in the College's service area. In addition, they have performed for civic clubs and college events and at Disney World in Orlando. Auditions are held in May of each year. Scholarships are awarded for tuition and books. Students interested in the Ensemble can contact the directors, Johnny Brewer in the Dixon Center at , jbrewer@lbwcc.edu; or Greg Aplin in LRC at or jgaplin@lbwcc.edu. Mu Alpha Theta is an organization that promotes scholarship in and enjoyment of mathematics among junior college students. Students must have a B average in all college work and have made at least a B in college algebra or above to be invited to join Mu Alpha Theta. High school students who are already members of Mu Alpha Theta may have their membership transferred to the LBWCC organization. The major function is to offer an annual math tournament in February. Mu Alpha Theta has a "once a member, always a member" policy. Anyone interested in joining should contact club sponsor Pat Senn in office A215 (Andalusia campus), by phone at , or at psenn@lbwcc.edu. National Technical Honor Society on the MacArthur Campus (chartered in October 1997) seeks to recognize technical students with highs achievements. The NTHS promotes the ideals of honesty, service, leadership and skill development among America's future workforce. We enhance these characteristics in our members through leadership opportunities within the Society, service projects sponsored by the Society and a strong emphasis on maintaining high academic standards. Members must meet several criteria; therefore, membership is by invitation only. Contact Michelle Goosby, sponsor, at the MacArthur campus, by phone at , mgoosby@lbwcc.edu. Phi Theta Kappa is the honor society of the two-year college system and recognizes those students who excel academically. There are more than 1,000 chapters nationwide. LBW's chapter is Alpha Beta Eta. Requirements are achievement of a 3.5 grade average or above, full-time student, good citizenship, and high moral standards. Those students who make the Dean's List are sent invitations to attend an orientation session to learn about the organization and its many projects and activities. Those who meet all the requirements for membership and who complete the application process are initiated into the organization in a formal ceremony. Phi Theta Kappa does not only recognize academic excellence. It is also very active in four hallmarks: leadership, scholarship, service, and fellowship.

Throughout the year, the Angels raise money through tee shirt sales. The money raised is used to make gift bags for the athletes. The Saints Angels is a great way to get involved and have fun promoting the LBWCC athletic programs. Science and Engineering Club has as its purpose to promote awareness, as well as to enrich the educational experience beyond the classroom, to the students, faculty, and the public about science and engineering professions. The club intends to provide a meaningful contribution to the college and surrounding community, offer leadership opportunities to all members with an interest in science and engineering. LBWSEC will encourage students to make a difference and discover new and exciting things about science and engineering. LBWSEC will be open to all areas of science and engineering. SkillsUSA is a nationwide association for students and teachers in public vocational-- technical programs and the businesses that employ them. SkillsUSA offers prestige and recognition through awards and contests. Included in the organization are co-curricular activities that give students more than occupational skill development. These activities make education and training more meaningful.
