We have our own product development and storage spaces and we do marketing and sales either direct or through retailers in Finland, Sweden, the Baltic countries and Russia. Finnish Cast Iron was founded in Tampere by graduate engineer Tapio Torkki in The main products of the company are cast iron covers, tree grates, tree guards and other cast iron and steel products in the field of municipal engineering. Torkki Companies Finnish Cast Iron is one of the leading companies in the business in Finland. Finnish Cast Iron / Fixmart Oy is the largest wholesale business distributing manhole covers in Finland with over 30 % share of the markets. Our selection of products includes over 200 items of municipal engineering: - cast iron grates and frames - rainwater grates and dome grates - risers, frames - kita manholes, special manhole covers, gutters - fire-, water- and energy department manhole covers - logo manhole covers - surfaces and their plastic pipes bolted - tree grates: round, square - tree guards, bollards, benches - angle and adjustment frames for tree grates The main office of Torkki Companies is located in Tampere: during the summer of 2006 we introduced some new innovations. 56 -STANDARD Rainwater covers and manhole covers for vehicular and pedestrian areas - design requirements, type testing, marking, quality control - standard deals with rainwater covers and manhole covers on vehicular and pedestrian areas. The purpose of the norm is to standardize manhole covers: definitions, classes, materials, design and testing requirements, markings and quality control. Rainwater and manhole covers are placed in six classes according to load-carrying requirements. A cover belonging to a certain class must be able to bear a certain load (A15 -> 15 kn, B125 -> 125 kn etc.). 57 Electrical Economic administration Project We began the switch to electrical economic administration -and with that to paperless accountingin our company at full pace in the spring The aim of the project is to simplify economic administration processes and thus reach relatively effortless and fast invoice processing and accounting. The project includes sending and receiving of electrical invoices, as well as communication between accounts ledgers and utilization of electrical account statements. Bills of the future are not delivered by regular mail, but they move from the salesman's system, by way of the operators, straight to the buyer's accounts ledger program. From the accounts ledgers the information of the invoices is easily moved to accounting. As these routine functions become easier, more time will be spared to dealing with the company s core functions, as well as developing them to the benefit of the customer. For the switch to completely electrical economic administration to be possible, the abilities to send and receive electrical invoices must be developed and made more common in Finnish companies. Development in this field has been rather fast, and so majority of large and medium-sized companies has already switched or is switching to electrical administration. In the field of electrical invoicing, we are a pioneer in our size-class, and we have not been waiting for the mainstream trend as we ve taken the step towards a paperless future. As our operator at moment we use Nordea and our electrical invoices are in finvoice-form. However, different invoice formats, various deals between operators and different administration softwares are causing some problems in electrical invoicing. Because of this we have thought it best to follow the arrival of the first invoices, so that we can be sure that the invoicing has been successful and that the contents of the invoice are correct. We have started testing the electrical invoicing with the city of Turku. The first electrically sent invoice was, however, sent in paper-form by our operator, since some problems occurred between the operators. Prices presented in the catalogue are subject to alteration. The invoicing is done according to the current valid prices (or prices agreed with the customer). We reserve the right to negotiate changes in prices if the cost of raw materials or other costs independent of the supplier rise unexpectedly. The delivery will take place on the customer s responsibility from stock or other alternative place. and delivery fees are not included in the price of the goods, unless otherwise agreed. Notices must be done within 8 days of the delivery. All weights and measurements are subject to minor variation. WARRANTY The products have a one year warranty. Products are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship. Possible damage caused by a defect in the product or costs caused by repairs of such damage are excluded from the warranty and thus the supplier is not obliged to give reimbursement. The warranty does not apply to any damage or defects appearing on the products caused by improper handling, or other such cause that can be proven to be the responsibility of the user. Compensations will be given only after the faulty product or the damaged part has been delivered for inspection to the place announced by the supplier and the damage is stated to belong under warranty. Returns must be accompanied by a written statement of the nature and of the damage and how it came about, as well as an account of when the goods were delivered to the receiver. The number of the invoice or waybill must also be mentioned. RETURNS Returns must always be agreed with Finnish Cast Iron, even if the delivery were faulty. We do not refund goods that are returned without an agreement with us. Such refunds will be sent back at the expense of the customer. Goods must be returned within a reasonable time of the delivery, but no later than three months after the date of delivery. Goods must be returned to the place announced by Finnish Cast Iron. Goods are only received and refunded if they are in their original, resalable condition. Special items that are made to order cannot be returned. When the return is accepted, the customer will be refunded no more than 80 % of the price, unless it is a case of a mistake on the half of the deliverer. When goods are sent back, the freight charges will be paid by the person returning the products. Returns sent by cash on delivery (COD) will not be claimed. A delivery list of the returns must be made, showing: - the person the return has been agreed with, - the reason for returning, - the product code, name and amount of the goods, - our reference number, - the date of the delivery order. If the return includes goods from more than one delivery, the delivery dates and invoice numbers must be mentioned. 40
