1 Steven E. Wolf, MD, FACS, University of Texas Southwestern Dr. Wolf is an established researcher and clinician in the field of burn/trauma care. He is currently the Chief of Burn Services and Vice Chairman for Research in the Department of Surgery, University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Wolf has 278 published research articles in leading journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, and Annals of Surgery. He has received over $7M in research funding for burn related projects, and is the Editor for Burns. He has been an member of the ABA since 1995 serving in leadership roles for research and program development.

2 Bruce H. Ackerman, PharmD, Crozer Chester Burn Center Bruce H. Ackerman, PharmD Dr. Ackerman completed a Bachelor s in Pharmacy at Northeastern University in 1980 and a doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota in He did a two year postdoctoral fellowship at St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center (Now Regions Hospital) in Infectious Diseases and Pharmacokinetics with research involving burn patients. At the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences he continued research in Infectious Disease and burns. In 1992, he joined the faculty at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science with The Nathan Speare Regional Burn Treatment Center as his practice site. After a three year interlude in a pharmaceutical company, he returned in 1999 to The Nathan Speare Regional Burn Treatment Center as part of the research team.

3 Agnes M. Burris, RN, Parkland Memorial Hospital Agnes is an established nurse in the field of Burn/Trauma care, starting twenty seven years ago at Parkland Memorial Hospital. During the last fifteen years, she has been Burn Research Nurse for the Department of Surgery, UT Southwestern Medical Center. Agnes has authored or coauthored 21 publications, posters and abstracts and has participated in 22 multicenter center trials and numerous single center studies under the direction of Drs. Hunt, Purdue, Arnoldo and Wolf. Agnes has been a member of the ABA since 1998 and serves on the ABLS Advisory Committee and the Data Management and Analysis Committee.

4 Celeste C. Finnerty, PhD, Shriners/UTMB Galveston Celeste C. Finnerty, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Surgery, Associate Director for Research: Since 2003, I've been active in burns research at the Shriners Hospital for Children Galveston / UTMB Department of Surgery. My areas of focus have been on translational research projects related to improving acute and long term outcomes following a burn injury. Projects have included clinical drug trials, the genomic and proteomic responses to burn, and molecular studies of hypertrophic scarring. As a co I on an ABA/DOD funded clinical trial, and an investigator on other clinical trials, I bring the unique perspective of a translational scientist to the BSAP.

5 Elizabeth Mann Salinas, RN, PhD, US Army Institute of Surgical Research LTC Elizabeth Mann Salinas, PhD, RN, CCRN, CCNS is currently the Nurse Scientist for the US Army Institute of Surgical Research Burn Center in San Antonio, Texas. Her previous positions at the Army Burn Center include Clinical Head Nurse of the 16 bed ICU and Clinical Nurse Specialist. She is now Program Manager for the Combat Casualty Care Nursing Research Task Area. Her research contributions include: development of a computer decision support system (CDSS) for burn fluid resuscitation; validation of the EndoTool(tm) CDSS system for glycemic management for burn patients; correction of the effect of anemia on point of care glucometers; and determination of the best predictors of sepsis in the burn patient.

6 Melissa A. Pressman, PhD, Arizona Burn Center Melissa Pressman, PhD is Director of Research at the Arizona Burn Center and an Associate Professor of Research with the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Prior to this, she was Manager of Clinical and Scientific Affairs for an international biotech company. Dr Pressman has been PI or Co PI on a number of grants, including those awarded by the NIH, DoE, DoD, and ABA MCTG. Dr Pressman is an active participant with the Maricopa Integrated Health Systems IRB, IRB Medical Statistics Review sub committee, and the ABA MCTG Safety Committee. In addition, she is the Chair for the ABA Research Special Interest Group and an invited regular contributor to an online clinical journal for a biostatistics column. Special areas of interest include biostatistics, education, and medical ethics.
