28 TAMHSC has more than tripled its research enterprise from $17.8 million in FY 2000 to $55.7 million in FY IBT ranks in the top 40 institutions in the country in terms of individual scientist productivity. Interdisciplinary research by nursing, medicine and pharmacy faculty has identified a protein marker specific to cardiac dysfunction stemming from exposure to ozone. This finding may enable treatments for heart disease patients exposed to air pollution.
