2 Virginia Association of Trade and Industrial Educators July 29, 2015 On behalf of the Executive Board of the Virginia Association of Trade and Industrial Educators, welcome to the 2015 Professional Development Conference. We are very excited to be here in Roanoke this summer, where it is refreshing to return to the mountains for a nice stay. As we embark on a brand new school year, we have worked very hard this year to make this year s conference both meaningful and beneficial. It is always good to start the year off with great information and new tools to share with our fellow instructors and especially with our students. Thank you to those who have offered suggestions, prepared workshops, contacted and arranged for vendors to attend, and have provided beneficial services and resources for this year s event. We couldn t do this without your help and support and continue to ask for suggestions for future conference workshops and conference locations. We also ask for current and future lead teachers to get involved early in planning for technical update days and courses for future conferences. In conjunction with Virginia ACTE, we would also like to ask for your input and support on education legislation that specifically involves CTE and Trade and Industrial Education courses. We would like to provide Virginia ACTE with as much information as possible on bills in the Virginia General Assembly that affect us as a whole or our individual programs. Together, we can make it work! Again, we are glad to see each of you and happy that you chose to be a part of your professional organization. We hope that you thoroughly enjoy the Greater Roanoke Valley and leave this conference refreshed, revitalized, and full of excitement and information to start the school year off right! Best regards, Laura Smith Laura Smith, CD VATIE President

The OSHA 500 is designed for instructors to award students the 10- and 30-hour construction safety and health Outreach Training Program.
