5 HEALTH TECHNOLOGY According to the Georgia Workforce 2016 Report, one out of every twelve jobs will be in the health services field, with an estimated 100,000 jobs added in Georgia alone. Five of the twenty fastest growing occupations in Georgia are in health care and CGTC s health technology labs are always updated to keep up with industry standards and demand. CGTC is recognized as a Center of Excellence for health care training in central Georgia. HEALTHCARE GOES HIGH TECH CGTC s students train in fully functional state-of-the-art labs that feature cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, and computed radiography equipment, then further their education with hands-on training in hospital clinical facilities across Georgia. Additionally, our Orthopedic Technology program is one of the few nationally accredited programs east of the Mississippi River. CGTC also offers a million-dollar fully-equipped biotechnology lab to train students in this rapidly expanding field. In addition to student activities like movie days, Spring Fling, International Week, and Cougars basketball games, students at CGTC can choose from a number of student organizations to participate in. CGTC offers many tools to help students succeed, including a Student Support Center designed to guide students through the steps to enroll in college. We also offer career services, an Academic Success Center, tutoring services, and professional certification testing to help students reach their goals at CGTC. A COLLEGE EDUCATION SHOULD BE AFFORDABLE FOR EVERYONE Students at CGTC have many financial aid options to make earning a college education affordable and accessible. The Federal Pell Grant, HOPE Grant, HOPE Scholarship, and CGTC Foundation scholarships are some of the many financial aid opportunities available. HOW TO APPLY Submit a completed application form and $20 non-refundable application fee. Submit an official copy of a high school/ged transcript and transcripts from any prior colleges attended. Transcripts must be mailed or delivered to CGTC in a sealed envelope. Take the COMPASS exam or provide the Office of Admissions with valid SAT, ACT, or CPE scores. Complete the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial aid availability. Once accepted to CGTC, attend an orientation program to help prepare you to begin college. 12 ADULT EDUCATION CGTC s Adult Education Program is committed to helping each student learn the basic skills - writing, computation, speaking, and listening - to compete successfully in today s workplace.
