1 TOWN OF MIDDLEBOROUGH / RUBBISH INFORMATION EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2016 > Please have all Rubbish/Recycle curbside by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection. > If a holiday occurs during the week, refuse / recycle pickup is one day later. > Household Rubbish Only is collected weekly on your regular collection day. (No business/commercial or industrial rubbish) > Household Recyclables are collected every other week on your regular scheduled rubbish day. ROLLING COVERED CARTS: Carts are the property of the Town of Middleborough. In the case a cart participant chooses to opt out of the program or moves from the residence, the Department of Public Works must be notified to schedule an appointment to retrieve the carts. Damaged Carts (i.e. wheels, axle) to be repaired by the Town of Middleborough Department of Public Works upon request to or [email protected] Lost or Stolen Carts- Residents are responsible to notify the Town of Middleborough DPW of lost or stolen carts. If stolen, replacement carts to be provided at no charge upon submittal of a police report. Overflow trash must be in town trash bag and brought to the landfill for disposal, located at 207 Plympton Street, Middleborough. Mon-Fri 7:00-3:30 15 Gallon Trash Bag- sold in packages of 5 bags - $ Gallon Trash Bag -sold in packages of 5 bags - $15.00 Only bagged trash that is in the town rolling covered carts with lid closed will be picked up curbside, all overflow must be in a town bag and brought to the landfill. 2 PRIVATE WAYS / NON AUTOMATED: Customers are required to purchase Town trash bags. Bags can be purchased at the Department of Public Works, 48 Wareham Street. Mon-Fri 7:00-3:30, as well as local stores. All rubbish MUST BE IN TRASH BARRELS with your house number and street clearly marked on barrel. This will be strictly enforced. Rubbish barrels should have covers on them to prevent rain /snow/water build up inside. Barrels must have handles, no larger than 55 gallon, and be in good condition. The Following are NOT collected by the Sanitation Division:. NEEDLES / SHARPS are to be taken to the Health Department or Fire Department for disposal.. MEDICAL WASTE OR MERCURY-CALL HEALTH DEPARTMENT No Loose trash No ashes, dirt, stones or sheet rock. No metals, furniture or building materials. No carpet or fencing. No steel or nylon rope, chains, cables or slings. No leaves, grass clippings or brush. No entrails or butchered animals, etc. No motor vehicle parts. No hazardous waste; oil, paint, etc. No commercial/industrial waste. No vehicle tires. No cooking oil
