In this situation, the first instinct is often to cut services. CHCs should first perform a thorough financial analysis before making any decisions. This analysis should include consideration of other program eligibility, self-pay payments, volume changes, and utilizing reserves. However, the Act also imposes significant new compliance challenges for CHCs and exposes managers to increased risk of liability under the False Claims Act. This session will discuss the changes resulting from the Act and recent enforcement actions taken by regulatory agencies that impact compliance obligations of CHCs.
