2 Introduction of the venue: The Duna-Ipoly National Park: Danube-Ipoly National Park, the ninth national park of Hungary established on hectares in 1997, and includes the Pilis, Visegrád and Börzsöny Hills, the undisturbed sections of the Ipoly Valley as well as parts of the Szentendre Island. The rock-bed of the Pilis Hills stretching from Esztergom to Budapest is made up of limestone and dolomite. Because of the basic characteristics of limestone karst formation, the hills are exceptionally rich in caves. Therefore it is not surprising that most of the caves of the National Park can be found in the Pilis Hills. Királyrét: Királyrét, the gate of Börzsöny, is considered to be the most beautiful hiking area and claimed by its visitors as the most popular hiking paradise in Hungary. In the summertime the forest is abound in cyclists and hikers, in the wintertime the Nagy-Hideghegy and Csóványos (both are hilltops of the Börzsöny) are aimed by tour-skiers. The Morgó Creek Valley connects the Szokolyai basin (the largest basin of the Börzsöny) to the smallest basin of the Börzsöny called Királyrét, where the CEEweb s Annulat Meeting will take place in This small triangular-shaped basin is bounded by m high hilltops. Here can be found the converge area of the Szén Creek, the Bagoly-Bükki Creek and the Nagy Fazék Creek establishing the Török Creek (Morgó Creek) that flows into the Danube. 2

At Deák Ferenc tér change to Metro M3 to get Nyugai Pályaudvar (blue line, 2 stops in direction Újpest Központ ) From Stadionok bus station From Stadionok bus station to Deák Ferenc tér by M2 Metro (red line, 4 stops in direction Déli pályaudvar). From Budapest, Nyugati Pályaudvar to Királyrét At Nyugati Pályaudvar (Nyugati Railway station) take the train in direction Szob. Leave the train at Kismaros (9 th stop, ca mins travelling. Check the timetablehere: In the field from write: Budapest Nyugati; in the to field write: Kismaros. Please, mind to set the correct dates, some timetables are changing from day by day in the late autumn.) To buy the tickets, make sure you have Hungarian Forint (the ticket costs 930 HUF approx. 3 Euros) At Kismaros the organisers will waiting for you and take you to the venue by car. Please, make sure you let the organizers know in advance which train you will be taking. 3

4 Travelling by car takes about 1 hour from Budapest to Királyrét. Take road 2 in Budapest in direction E77/M2/Vác/Hont/Szob/Dunakeszi then take M2 highway (toll free for cars) in direction Vác/Hont/Dunakeszi-Kelet. Leave the M2 highway at the exit 12/Szob/2/Vác Észak. Take the road 12 in direction Szob/Vác-Észak until reach Verőce. In Verőce find the Szokolyai Út (Szokolyai street). The Szokolyai út after 1-2 kilometers will be named as Hunyadi János út, later in Szokolya it is named as Hunyadi utca. In Szokolya, turn right to Kolozsvári utca then turn left to Fő utca, then go straight on until you reach the education centre. Please, look for the CEEweb Academy signs. Additional Useful Information: Voting on the Annual Meeting For voting at the Annual Meeting, please bring an authorization from the official representative of your organisation. Accommodation The Education center in Királyrét has 51 beds all together in rooms with 2,3,4,and 6 beds. There are private bathrooms only to the rooms with 2 beds. Shared and separated bathrooms for men and women available in every wing of the building. Food We will receive full board: breakfast, lunch, dinner + coffee breaks depending on the schedule of the day. Reimbursement of travel costs Travel, accommodation and boarding costs (including coffee breaks, breakfasts, lunches and dinners) will be organized and covered by CEEweb with the exception of those that had indicated before that they can cover their own costs. Travelling costs are reimbursed by CEEweb given the conditions: 6

7 you have invoice of your tickets (train, bus, airplane, etc.) for CEEweb s name and address (CEEweb for Biodiversity, 1021 Budapest, Széher út 40, Tax number: You keep all original tickets (including boarding passes, metro tickets, etc.) and the invoices with you until you go back home Fill out the Travel Reimbursement Form and car expenses form if applicable -with your data, attach the original tickets, invoices and car registration documents to it and send them to us by post. We receive the documents of your travel expenses, then we will reimburse you by bank transfer Where any invoices or tickets are missing, no reimbursement will be made! Please note that NO BUSINESS CAR costs can be reimbursed! Please note that we calculate the petrol prices according to the Hungarian Tax Office Please note that we use the Hungarian National Bank valid EUR currency rate on the invoice s issue date due to accounting regulations! For more details read the attached Reimbursement_Conditions.pdf file. Weather & What to bring Weather in November might be rainy, foggy and cold. We expect temperature from 6 to 12 degrees during the day and about 4-10 in the mornings and evenings. Please, bring your warm clothes and some waterproof jackets. Also, we are planning to have some field visit so please, take your trekking boots and other accessories. Also we would like to share your national specialties, food and drinks during the intercultural event so please, take some special local foods and drinks with you.
