2 Product Concept With a range of innovative network-ready products such as network cameras, Sony has already opened up a whole world of IP (Internet Protocol) networked image monitoring applications. Sony s intelligent monitoring software builds on this experience and allows professionals in many fields security, industry, medical, process and quality control, retail, human resources to build a powerful multi-camera image monitoring system running over a computer network. This can bring a host of benefits ranging from safety improvements, better-managed inventory, reduced loss and shrinkage to reduced cost of ownership. RealShot Manager is the management software for video monitoring over IP. It greatly expands the capabilities of a company s network monitoring system and makes it easier than ever to manage and administer a complete digital video system. The IMZ-RS400 series is the product of version 4.0 of RealShot Manager, which is the successor of IMZ-RS3xx series. Our main objectives of RSM version 4.0 are as follows. 1. 4 Main Feature Explanations. New Features; 1. Intelligent video motion filter (VMF) alarm RSM is capable of creating an alarm by the following video motion filters (VMF) in combination with the multi-codec platform IP cameras (SNC-RX550, SNC- RZ50, SNC-CS50). With Intelligent Motion Detection (IMD) configured on camera side Appearance Disappearance Existing Capacity Passing With Intelligent Object Detection (IOD) configured on camera side Unattended/Removed Object size, direction, speed conditions can be applied to several filters. Please refer to the following matrix to check what video filter type can be used what conditions.

5 2. Intelligent video motion filter (VMF) search RSM is capable of not only creating the real time alarm by image processing, but also filtering to the recorded data after the incident. This enables the operator to quickly search the recorded data much more efficiently. 3. Search by alarm type RSM can specify the reason of the alarm in the search GUI. By using this criteria operators can recognize the alarm by sensor input or the alarm by motion detection. 4. Simultaneous playback of multiple cameras Up to 9 cameras can be playback simultaneously from the same start point. This helps operator to check the incident easily. Note; This feature doesn t mean keeping time synchronization of multiple cameras after starting the playback. 5. Quick playback from alarm window Operator can quickly gain an access to the recorded video data by clicking the alarm log which is associated with alarm recording. Note; This feature is available only under standard server configuration in local PC. Client/Server configuration is not supported. 6. Support SNT-V704 new protocol support on V4.0 Version 4.0 also includes support for VCL/Honeywell dome cameras via SNT-V704 Existing Features; 7. Customized layouts RealShot Manager s intuitive and user-friendly interface can be personalized in order to match customers own requirements and preferences. This powerful feature the Layout Editor creates customized site layouts and allows you to insert backgrounds (e.g. a floor plan), icons (which can be linked to a specific camera or monitor) and even company logos. Action areas can be created and used to switch to a new layout, for example to zoom in on another area such as a different wing of an office building or the opposite platform of a railway station. Switching layouts can be also triggered by the alarm input from cameras and/or sensors.

6 8. Layout tour Layout tour is the function of switching multiple layouts sequentially by preset like tour. For example, as shown below, making 4 layouts (cam1-cam4, cam5-cam8, cam9-cam12, Cam13-cam16), and presetting of the order/interval of the layouts, user can monitor all cameras on one Client PC by sequentially switching four layouts. Separate Hot-Spot Window When you use the Dual Monitor function of Microsoft Windows XP, you can use the second monitor as full screen, the Hot-Spot monitor. (The hotspot monitor displays the same picture as the currently selected camera monitor window). The hotspot monitor is usually larger than the other monitors that can provide a better view of the selected camera monitor. By placing hotspot on the second monitor screen, the usefulness is further enhanced.

7 10. Flexible recording Sony RealShot Manager has the flexible recording modes which include Manual, Scheduled and Alarm/Pre-alarm recording. Manual recording A privileged operator can start a recording at any time for any selected camera. The camera then records at a defined refresh rate, resolution and quality. Scheduled recording This mode schedules recording for any selected camera or group of cameras. There is virtually no limit to the number of scheduled items, so you can record the detail you want, when you want, by adjusting refresh rate, resolution and quality. Alarm and pre-alarm recording Alarm sensors can be configured either per camera or camera group and set up to be active in the schedule to record more detail at the time an alarm sensor is triggered. 11. Easy search of recorded images The Search Recording GUI (Graphical User Interface) makes it quick and easy to retrieve a recording. The calendar displays all recordings made (per camera or camera group) so you can see when and what kind of recording was made and filter this for the time/date, alarm events and inserted comments. Preview images (thumbnails) can also be displayed to make the search even easier and more effective. The playback can be performed in both real time mode and time-lapse mode, with variable speed (frame-by-frame to x100). In addition, recording and playback can be performed simultaneously.

8 12. Software Motion Detection function The Motion Detection is a very important function for Security applications in order to save the recording disk space. Once the user sets the detecting areas, RealShot Manager can detect the moving objects in the specified areas. The images can be recorded triggered by the motion detection. Detecting sequence consists of the following 3 steps; 1. RSM calculates the difference of intensity between current frame and previous multiple frames (default: 30 frames) by block (blue block: default 8x8 pixels). 2. If the summation of the difference in a block is more than specified threshold, the block is coloured by blue, which means the candidate of moving object. 3. If the blued block continues to be the candidate for some period, the area including these blocks is detected as moving object and surrounded with a green rectangle. The motion detection can be the trigger for recording and the search key for playback. Software motion detection is distinguished from other alarm generated by Activity Detection of cameras and Sensor input. Software Motion detection can be used for both JPEG and MPEG4. The parameter of motion detection can be changed on the schedule based in order to have better result under different light condition. Difference between Software Motion detection and camera Activity Detection; SONY s IP cameras have the Activity Detection function in themselves. It calculates the difference of intensity of 2 frames, between the current frame and the one just before. Meanwhile, the advantage of Software Motion Detection is its robustness to the environmental noises. It calculates the difference of intensity between the current and the previous 30 frames, which helps avoid unnecessary detections, such as wave of water, swinging trees by wind and so on.

9 13. Alarm trigger by network cameras activity detection The activity detection embedded in Sony network cameras (SNC-RZ30 and SNC- Z20) can be used as the alarm trigger. The settings of threshold, sensitivity and sensing area of the activity detection can be configured through RealShot Manager. 14. Integration with other systems/software through API The new RSM Application Programming Interface (RSM-API) was designed to support the development of solutions and components for system integration. The RSM-API allows interrogation of transmitted data and control of the RealShot Manager Server at a high level and to access the media streams controlled by RSM. The document should be disclosed to selected candidates and controlled under local responsibility. The NDA contract is not obliged except in some special cases. Note: RSM operates over a standard network and its infrastructure is not part of the RSM System. For all network related issues, please contact the system operator or the host of the RSM system. 15. Remote client In addition to the Standalone system RealShot Manager gives you administrative client function. This is known as Controller, gives you full client functions from remote site on the network. You can operate the connected server just like a local standalone system.

10 16. Flexible License Management RealShot Manager provides flexibility for the users to choose the number of cameras to be installed in their systems. There are five license line-ups, and any combination of them can be simultaneously or cumulatively installed to your PC. It allows the installation of more than 32 cameras 17. Dynamic Masking capability In order to protect the privacy, Dynamic Masking of forbidden parts of images is newly added to RealShot Manager s features. The mask stays on the selected position of the both JPEG and MPEG4 image. When you pan, tilt or zoom. The number, position and size of masks can be flexibly configured, and the mask type can be selected from Border, Gaussian Blur, Luminance (gamma), Mosaic (average), Mosaic (duplicate), Random Noise and Single Colour. If you use SNC-RZ30/2, you don t need to upgrade firmware. From version 3.x the free utility software RSM File Player will support this function. In other words, RSM File player can play back the file with dynamic masking. 18. Easy operation of free utility software RSM File player The free utility software RSM File Player, which enables users to play back the recorded images, becomes much easier to operate for users. 12 19. Pan/Tilt/Zoom control on Image The pan, tilt and zoom operations can be done by clicking and dragging on the certain area of the monitored image. (1). Click on the image to pan and tilt the camera. Where you click will be shown on the center of the screen. (2). Drag the area where you want to zoom in. The selected area will be shown on the center of the screen. 20. High speed processing The high quality image from Sony network cameras (such as the SNC-RZ30) can be monitored with very high refresh rate. For example, the images from four SNC-RZ30 cameras can be received at 30 frames per second when using a PC with Pentium IV 2.53 GHz CPU. It can receive maximum data of up to 200 Mbps. 21. Audio support enhancement The RealShot Manager supports monitoring and recording / playback audio signals synchronous with video images. RealShot Manager handles audio signals with the following devices. Network audio converter box RealShot Manager is able to receive the audio signals from network audio converter box provided by third party. It can record the audio signals synchronous with video images from Sony Network Cameras and playback the audio with video images on playback screen. The supported devices are listed below. 13 Sony Network Cameras RealShot Manager is capable of audio monitoring, recording, playback and distributing pre defined audio data to cameras for warning and alarm sound on alarm. With these audio functions, RealShot Manager allows you to have more vivid information of remote site as well as to have interactive communication with remote sites. The maximum gap of video and audio is about 1 second in case of both monitoring and recording/playback. Real-time talk function is implemented from V3.1. You can select a camera from the RSM monitoring GUI and talk to the remote site speaker attached to the camera. 22. MPEG4 support The RealShot Manager supports MPEG4 codec for Sony MPEG4 supported cameras. Any combination of MPEG4 cameras and JPEG cameras are available. I frame rewind playback is implemented in V4 to make the rewind image smoothly viewed 23. Enhancement of Backup & Archive function Backup function: User can back up the RSM-data without stopping RSM application and recording with 3 rd party application. The product (Brightstore, Archserve, Computer Associates) information which BCC verified is informed in the end of Nov. in another document.

14 Archive function: The RealShot Manager supports data-archiving to tape streamer in order to store huge data with low cost storage devices. When recorded data passes preservation days defined by clean-up job, recorded data is automatically archived from the HDD of RSM PC to tape streamer unit. Meanwhile when archived data that is played back, it is necessary to reload the data from tape streamer unit to HDD of RSM PC in advance. The supported storage system is the following 24. Multi codec platform camera support RSM V3.2 support multi codec platform camera for existing function. Newly implemented feature to & from multi codec platform is not supported except for item 24. Supported codecs are JPEG & MPEG4. Please note, H.264 is not supported by RSM V4 25. Alarm buffer integration Alarm buffer function of the camera is integrated with RSM V3.2. 15 Data delete management RSM can provide three options to delete the recorded data. Cleanup job User can specify how many days of data to be stored in the system. If the file gets to be older than specified days, then the data automatically is deleted. Manual delete User can delete the specified record manually Data overwriting User can specify the remaining capacity of the HDD and if the remaining capacity gets less than the threshold, then the oldest data is automatically deleted. User can set this mode on per storage location.

System Alert The system detects the following error status and notifies the error to system administrator by ; VIDEO LOSS - The system can detect the network connection error between camera and RSM as video loss. DISK FULL - HDD remaining capacity is monitored if it goes over the threshold 27. MPEG4 platform motion detection alarm support RSM can support MPEG4 platform camera motion detection alarm for alarm action. 28. Evaluation and Demo use The software is designed for customer easily to evaluate and for Sony Sales and dealer easily to give customers the demonstration without any operation such as temporary license issuing process. Without license file you can run the RealShot Manager in the two modes. A) Evaluate Mode This mode allows you to run the program with time and function limitation. * You can try this mode with no limitation of number of execution. B) 30 Days Mode This mode allows you to run the program with full function for 30 days. * After you try 30 days mode once, this mode is not available. When you install license file, it works as a product with no time and function limitation. For further use, we prepare free demo license up to 32 cameras with full function for Marketing, Sales, Evaluation, Special customer, Sales Rep, Channel Partner and other Sony Gp. internal-use. Periodical limitations of demo license are either 90days or no-limitation. How to obtain the licenses? 1. Get the trial software, and install it to your demo PC. At this step, the software works just as a trial version with 30days periodical limitation. The user places a purchase order to the sales company directly or through dealer / integrator.

26 1. The sales company accordingly places the purchase order to Sony factory. 2. The factory accordingly ships the physical items of product, which include the Software License Certificate, Software License Registration (fax form) and Instruction for Registration. (ア) The certificate serial number and authorization code are printed on the certificate. 3. The sales company sells the above as the actual product to the end-user directly or through dealer / integrator. 4. The user requests the software license code directly to Sony HQ by one of the following methods. The details are explained in the instruction. To access Sony s registration web site and input the necessary information. To fill up the registration form and send it by fax. The product name, certificate serial number, authorization code, software serial number which has been generated when the software is installed, and user information are required for the registration. 5. The license server at Sony HQ verifies the request, and automatically sends the license file to the user via The user (or integrator) installs the license file to the PC where the trial version software has been installed at the step 3. Now the software works as full functional version. This process has to be done within 30 days after the step3. (ア) The license file should be copied under the directory where RealShot Manager.exe exists. (Default is C:\Program Files\Sony\Sony RealShot Manager.) In the case that a sales company sells the RSM system package, which includes the RSM-preinstalled PC and other components, the process should be as follows. 1. Sales company to download the trial software 2. Customer to place a system order to sales company 3. Sales company to place a product order to factory 4. Sales company to install the trial software to the PC for the system package 5. The product (certificate) to be delivered to sales company

27 6. Sales company to request software license to Sony HQ 7. Sales company to receive the license file 8. Sales company to install the license file to the PC 9. Sales company to sell the completed system package to customer In the case that a sales company sells the software CD-ROM, the sales company should burn the CD-R of downloaded software locally and insert the CD-R disk into the product carton box.
