1 INTERVIEW DAY - MSI Organized by Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering Beneficiaries: Students of 7 th EC Date/Time: 30/08/2014 (10:30 AM to 2:00 PM) Experts from Industry: 1) Mr. M. 2 Objectives, Skills development & Outcomes: Previously EC department had facilitated professional training to their 40 students on Embedded Systems, Networking & Automation and Rest of them had done some work on Linux at College only. The Department had scheduled to conduct Interview Day Medium Scale Industries for creating awareness among students & to know about what kind of questions are generally asked during interviews in medium scale industries. Even the Students can know about what other skills are also required while facing this kind of interview. Total 46 students took part in this activity. Department had invited domain wise dignitaries from well known industries like Pelican Roto Flex Pvt. Ltd, Samrosh Industries, Dev India Infotech, Copal Nankeen, ACS- Rajkot & Network engineer from Indian Overseas Bank. The Invitees from Pelican Roto Flex Pvt. Ltd, Samrosh Industries & Gopal Namkeen took interviews of the students who were trained from Siemens (I) Ltd on Industrial Automation & AC/DC drives. Though it was a mock interview session, the trained Students got a feel of real interview because the interviewers were from well known industry & they were highly experienced in the automation field. The Invitees from ACS-Rajkot & Network engineer from Indian Overseas Bank took interviews of the students who were trained on CCNA by well known institutes based in Bangalore & Baroda. The Invitees from Dev India Infotech took interviews of the students who were in the training of embedded Systems domain & trained on Linux & C with Data Structures by well known institute centered in New Delhi. Besides taking interviews, the domain specific experts gave their valuable suggestions related to the knowledge & skills expected by the medium scale industries from graduate EC engineer. The Student grabbed the activity and actively took part in interviews & they really came to know about their knowledge and skills set. They really

3 enjoyed this entire process of evaluation. It will definitely help them to upgrade their present skill set & will also aid in building their confidence to face any such interview process conducted by medium scale industry. The Entire workshop was coordinated by faculty Coordinators Prof. S.B. Bhatt and Prof. P.C. Dadhaniya with support of the student coordinators Mr. Nirav Darji, Mr. Sunil Gadhavi.
