2 Mobile and Wireless Technologies Club (MWTC) at Faculty of Engineering Technology & Research (F.E.T.R.), Bardoli has organized Three Days Workshop on Introduction to Android Application Development during 7 th to 9 th August The workshop was aimed to provide knowledge about Android platform for mobile devices and developing various applications. Almost 50 participants from Computer Engineering have participated in the workshop. 2

3 The Schedule of the workshop for Three days is as follows: Day 1: 7/8/2015 Session 1: 11:00 A.M. to 1:45 P.M. OOP Basics JDK/JRE/JVM Session 2: 2:30 P.M.TO 4:00 P.M. Netbeans / Eclipse demo Session 3: 4:15 P.M. TO 5:30 P.M. Demo application in Java Day 2: 8/8/2015 Session 1: 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Basics of Android Session 2: 2:00 P.M.TO 4:00 P.M. Android Application Session 3: 4:15 P.M. TO 5:30 P.M. Basic Controls in Android Day 3: 9/8/2015 Session 1: 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UI Basics of Android Session 2: 2:00 P.M.TO 4:00 P.M. Android Project Application Session 3: 4:15 P.M. TO 5:00 P.M. Certificate Distribution The workshop started with inaugural function at 10:00 A.M. on 7 th August The program was graced with the presence of Principal of the institute Dr. Latesh B. Chaudhari, Office Superintendent Mr. Kiranbhai Bhatt, Head of Computer Department Prof. Bhavini R. Bhatt, Invited Expert Mr. Krupal Patel (Opus Technology, Surat), Mr. Vintesh Patel and Mr. Devdeep Barad. Prof. Dharmishtha Chaudhari gave opening speech for the workshop. Dr. Latesh B. Chaudhari (Principal of FETR) gave a motivational speech and objective of the workshop. 3

5 On 7 th August 2015, the first session of expert talk started at 11:00. A.M by Mr. Krupal Patel. He started with introduction of Android platforms for mobile devices, and its applications. He also discussed basics of Object oriented technologies. The second session of expert talk started at 1:00 P.M. by Mr. Vintesh patel. 6 The afternoon session of Hands-on started at 3:00. P.M. where the participants provided with laboratory sessions on Java Netbeans/Eclipse Installation, Basic commands, exercises related to Java. The participants also tried various demo applications in Java provided by experts. Laboratory Hands-on session On 8 th August 2015, The First session of expert talk started at 10:30 A.M. by Mr. Vintesh Patel. He gave introduction to Android and setup Android studio for Android development. He also discussed basic controls and applications of Android. 7 On 9 th August the First session of expert talk started at 10:30 A.M. by Mr. Vintesh Patel. He discussed basic UI controls and applications of Android. In the second session participants developed sample applications on Android. All the participants provided the PPT and material of Hands-on Exercise. Hands on Session in Laboratory At the last day question answer session and certificate distribution function started on 4:00 PM. Feed backs regarding workshop are provided by various students. Prof. Narendra V. Jagtap provided vote of thanks for all the participants and invited guests. The concluding speech to motivate the student to participate in such workshop was given by Prof. Jatin M.
