OVERVIEW OF THE SERVICE 1.1 OVERVIEW 5NINES has for many years focused on the effective delivery of price competitive, energy efficient data centre capacity to the private sector. As part of our commitment to the G-Cloud Framework, 5NINES is now offering these core infrastructure services to the Public Sector, bringing host of valuable opportunities for the sector to benefit from, not only best in class, but also to provide lower total cost of ownership data centres in the market. The SINGLE most cost effective method for the Public Sector to source data centre capacity is via 5NINES Data Centre Leasing product, which provides not only a bespoke data centre of virtually any size/scale/power but also with options for various IL classifications, from IL0 though IL5. 5NINES Data Centre Development and Leasing division is able to offer dramatically beneficial pricing to the Public sector for medium to long term commitments, resulting in charges up to 50% lower than the co-location and 30% lower than the wholesale markets can offer. A brand new, fully operational, Public Sector data centre provides exceptional opportunities for organisations to come together and benefit from the economies of scale. 5NINES Data Centre assets are backed by AAA rated funds, which are specifically targeted at supporting Public Sector infrastructure projects and the support of the country s digital economy. 5NINES has developed a rapid fulfilment methodology, which enables the fast deployment of brand new, state of the art data centre builds for specific customers across the UK. Once there is an agreed Heads of Terms 5NINES will usually deliver a new, ultra-efficient data centre virtually anywhere in the UK and Northern Ireland in around months. The additional benefit of this approach is that the customer can choose which specialist data centre operator (M&E, Maintenance, Security, etc.) they want to employ, and 5NINES will not take a mark-up on any of these costs, as the customer contracts directly with its preferred supplier. 5NINES provide a bid from each operator, directly to the Customer and will assist in the selection of best facility management supplier. Where appropriate 5NINES can and will develop within existing Public Sector owned property/land, either via Joint Venture or securing premises/land from the body concerned. This can also provide an immediate income stream for organisations with funds locked up in redundant property or land. Even though 5NINES design the most energy efficient data centres the cost of electricity remains significant (usually more than the rest of the operating costs combined) therefore the customer can purchase electricity directly from their preferred supplier and source. This on its own can reduce the electricity cost by 15%-25% over co-location costs. Whilst 5NINES in constantly striving to deliver the greatest data centre cost efficiency, we do not compromise on the technical architecture, which could ultimately lead to unnecessary service delivery issues in the future. Each data centre solution has been assessed to support business critical computing and is both energy and carbon efficient. The G-Cloud Framework provides an excellent opportunity for the Public sector to realize the financial benefits that a 5NINES efficient data centre can deliver, we also provide longer term,

The terms of these agreements are 20 years, with the expected life expectancy of the building to be 65 years. 1.3 COMBINED LEASE COST & ENERGY SAVINGS - BUSINESS CASE Example Energy spend is now the largest cost head for every legacy data centre operators, whether that be a 3 rd party of in-house. 5NINES has developed modelling tools to assess the business case for the relocation from a legacy data centre, which is inefficient to a new, highly optimised facility. Where 5NINES is able to provide re-location funding, as described in 1.2 (above) the financial payback is usually instantaneous. Today a data centre which has a PUE of 3.5 is unsustainable, for every 1kW used by IT equipment a total 3.5kW is used in order to maintain, support and cool the infrastructure. Therefore 50kW of IT load will consume around of 135,000 (at 0.087p/kWh), compared to less than half this amount, as a minimum within a 5NINES provided facility. Therefore the opportunities for G-Cloud-iv buyers can be significant. Greater savings can be offered, subject to size and term. PRICING EXAMPLES 5NINES offer the most cost effective data solution, in the form of a leasing model, which reduces the unitary cost based on a longer the term commitment, but with the flexibility to allow the customer to choose their preferred service provider and change whenever appropriate, whilst still maintaining control of the core data centre asset. It would be impractical to include pricing for every option available to a customer wishing to operate their own dedicated data centre, therefore the table below has been designed to provide sample costs, based on a data centre of 1.5MW (IT Load), a design PUE of 1.2 built in the UK, and should meet the IL3 classification from a build and infrastructure perspective. The comparison table also shows the equivalent cost per cabinet/rack of 5kW and cost per kw (without power). The facility is standalone on a 2 acre plot with 2,500sqft of office accommodation. DATA CENTRE SAMPLE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION Description Partition Construction False Flooring Specification All partitions or walls will be of stud wall construction providing a minimum two hour fire rating. Stud wall will extend from base slab to approximately 1 metre above ceiling height where it will be sealed to create a plenum for hot air return. Modular raised access floor comprising 600mm x 600mm tiles with a floor void of 600mm. The floor finish is factory bonded high pressure plastic laminate, non-slip vinyl and resistant to static. Smoke / Fire Detection The design load of the raised floor is 12Kn/m 2, providing a point load rating (centre of tile) of 4.5Kn. Support pedestals are linked together via stringers for additional strength and stability. Addressable smoke detection system will be installed with detectors installed on the ceiling to BS Detectors within the ceiling and floor voids will be installed to BS Fire Suppression Electrical Distribution Alarm sounders will be installed to comply with the requirements for audibility under BS5839 Part The data centre will be protected by an IG55 (Argonite) gas fire suppression system which has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and zero Global Warming Potential (GWP). System will be designed in accordance with ISO Gaseous Fire- Extinguishing Systems, together with the National Fire Protection Association Standard Equipment is TPED/PED compliant. The extinguishing agent will be stored at 300bar in rechargeable containers designed in accordance with EEC Directive 84/527 EEC, filled and painted red in accordance with BS 381C, reference 537. The containers will be 80litres and are available with approvals to DOT or European standards. All electrical supplies will be separately metered and charged as used. Standard 5Kw equipment racks will be fed by two 32-amp commando outlets each from two separate distribution boards with 2N distribution throughout. Cabling will be via armoured cable. Outlets will be fixed to the floor beneath the cabinet space. Multiple outlets or three phase supplies will be provided as required for high density racks

10 Commercial in Confidence 10 An 8 point clean earth bar will be provided within the data centre. False floor and any other extraneous metalwork will be bonded to meet BS7671; Equipment rack earthing can be provided to suit customer requirements Lighting Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) Non UPS 13 amp outlets will be provided for cleaning purposes. Indirect / direct lighting provides an average of 500 LUX using 600mm x 600mm recessed modular luminaries. The luminaries are fitted with two high efficiency 55w PLL lamps and high frequency control circuits. They incorporate a slim category two louvre in the centre to give a gentle spread of light. Emergency lighting will be provided throughout in accordance BS5266. All technical equipment supplies will be protected by N+1 configured static UPS system(s) with N representing the maximum contracted electrical load. 2N UPS solutions can also be provided if required. As standard the UPS protected power will typically be supplied at a rate of 5Kw equipment cabinet space; higher density options are available up to 30Kw per rack. Air Conditioning The UPS battery autonomy time will be a minimum of 10 minutes based upon maximum contracted load. A free air cooling system is installed which will automatically utilise a combination of external air, standard DX and hot air from within the IT space dependent on external air temperature. The system will be configured to provide an N+1 resilience level for the air conditioning units with N representing the maximum contracted cooling load. Air circulation fans are also backed up by UPS providing continuous cooling during mains failure or generator test. Generator Security A water detection system will be installed within the floor void to monitor for water ingress in the proximity and the air conditioning units. All site electrical supplies will be 100% supported via the site generator which is configured in an N+N design and has a minimum for 24 hours of fuel on site at full load with dual re-fuelling contracts. The site perimeter is surrounded by an 8 foot (2.44metres) high anti-climb steel palisade fence topped with Rota-Spike with sliding gate and access control. Security systems are monitored 24 x 7 by onsite staff and also remotely via the Vtesse Network Operations Centre (NOC). Access control to all client rooms is provided via a Progeny swipe card system. An HDTV CCTV system with motion detection monitors various points internally and externally throughout the site. The system is digitally recorded both on and off site with data kept for 30 days. The site is manned 24 x 7.

11 Commercial in Confidence 11 7 INFORMATION ASSURANCE 7.1 SECURITY IMPACT LEVELS At this stage the data centres have not been accredited for List-X or IL3+, however we believe that the technical and operational specification would provide for IL3 certification. 5NINES will work with any G-Cloud buyer to access the works required to meet this standard. Where a buyer requires a dedicated data centre 5NINES standard build will provide a basis for IL3 accreditation and for marginally additional cost this could be increased to IL5. All datacentres (locales) are highly resilient and have been assessed by 5NINES to provide the concurrent maintainability required of a Tier3 or above, data centre. The data centres are in the UK. 8 ON-BOARDING AND OFF-BOARDING USERS 8.2 ON-BOARDING NEW USERS Once the Heads of Terms have been agreed property lawyers will draw up an agreement to lease detailing specification, timescales and charges which will have been pre-agreed with the customer in the Heads of Terms. Once the development has been completed and passed Integrated Systems Testing, the facility will be handed over to the client and there nominated facility operator. 9 SERVICE MANAGEMENT DETAILS An experienced Development Manager (DM) will be assigned to each customer project and will be responsible for the on-going customer relationship. The DM will also provide assistance with reporting and incident escalation. 10 ORDERING AND INVOICING PROCESS Billing for the Data Centre Lease is usually annually in advance, however quarterly invoicing is available on request. Payment for electricity consumed is the responsibility of the client Payment can be made via the following methods: Direct Debit. 11 TERMINATION TERMS Termination terms are subject to negotiation and penalty proivsion. 12 CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES The customer is responsible for: i. Payment of Stranded Costs post Heads of Terms, pre Agreement to Lease ii. Mobilise Legal representatives in order to process Agreement to Lease and other Contract Documents.
