1 SPRING SOCCER 2014 The Y nurtures the potential of children through the youth sports programming by strengthening character in our youth, engaging families, and building lasting relationships. Participants in these programs build skills, learn about teamwork, and focus on sportsmanship. Families are presented with second-to-none volunteer opportunities as coaches, team parents, and committee members. 2 Additional Information Age & Gender Specific Leagues YMCA sports leagues are divided by the age of the participants. We will use the same date cut off as the Edmond Public Schools to avoid any confusion. A valid birth certificate must be turned in for each child; we will keep all birth certificates on file for future leagues. The Age Cut Off is how old the child is on August 31, Girls Specific Leagues will be available in ages 6 & above. If numbers to not permit for gender specific, these leagues will combine with the co-ed leagues. 11 EDMOND BRANCH YMCA YOUTH SOCCER CLASSES FOR AGES 2-5 Edmond Branch YMCA is proud to once again offer the MiniKickers Program in association with the Challenger Soccer Academy. MiniKickers is a new and exciting program that teaches basic soccer skills while developing strength, balance, coordination, listening skills and team work for children aged 2-4. Our professional, licensed British coaches will ensure your child has a positive soccer experience. The MiniKickers curriculum has been devised by soccer experts, child development professionals and experienced coaches. Classes are weekly 45 minute sessions for period of 6 weeks Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00 9:45am 2 years of age 10:00 10:45am 3 years of age 11:00 11:45am 4 years of age DATES March 31st May 9th LOCATION Edmond Branch YMCA Fields COST All this for just $65 per Player!

12 EDMOND BRANCH YMCA PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Edmond Branch YMCA is once again proud to offer its annual SpringPlayer Development Program, partnering with the Challenger Soccer Academy. Challenger s Professional British Coaches are coming to teach players the fundamental skills they need to take their game to the next level. Weekly sessions guarantee your players are sure to have fun while practicing game-related technical activities. OUR PROGRAM INCLUDES: This program suitable for players aged U5 U14 of all abilities. Practices will be an hour-long each week. All practices will include drills, fun games and scrimmages. Each player will receive an in depth Player Evaluation. DATES Match 10th May 9th Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays or Fridays Sessions run for 1 hour between 5pm- 8pm (Session times vary depending on player age) LOCATION Ymca Fields, (vary depending on day). 14 YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City Parents Code of Ethics I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event. I will place the emotional and physical well being of each child ahead of a personal desire to win. I will support the implementation of the YMCA s four character development values-caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all YMCA youth sports events. I will remember the game is for youths not for adults. I will do my very best to make the youth sports experience for my child. I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching or character development or providing transportation. I will treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.
