Responsibilities include the administration of five programs that enable people with disabilities to live independently in their community of choice. Budget responsibilities range from $17-21 million annually. The Independent Living Rehabilitation Program is a statewide program with 16 field offices. Other programs are the North Carolina Assistive Technology program, ACCESS NC, Latino Outreach, and the Service Animal Registration and Education program. Additional responsibilities include developing and strengthening statewide collaborative opportunities, particularly with the aging and disability communities. Serve as the contract administrator for ten federally funded programs (the state s Youth Leadership Forum, the Statewide Independent Living Council, and eight Centers for Independent Living) Program Administrator North Carolina Division for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Responsible for overseeing three statewide programs, including the North Carolina Relay Services, Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program, and the Emergency Alert Program. Responsibilities included management of a $12 million annual budget, supervising staff, advising role to seven field offices, collaborating with the Public Page1
2 Utilities Commission to develop and implement procedures in compliance with the Federal Communications Commission, and overseeing multiple contracts Coordinator of Disability Services /ADA Compliance Officer Educational Faculty Rochester Institute of Technology Responsibilities included development of university policies, program planning, and approving reasonable and appropriate accommodations for students, faculty and staff. Responsibilities also included working closely with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs departments to recommend ways to promote an accessible environment. Additional areas of involvement included serving on the: Academic Senate Provost Access Committee Institute Council Diversity Advocacy Committee Executive Director Disability Action Center of Georgia Responsibilities included serving as the founding director responsible for full program implementation that included fiscal management, fundraising, strategic planning, grant writing, policy development, staff hiring, and contract administration.
