2 OUR MISSION Contribute to the commercial viability of our members by establishing strategies that will increase participation in all indoor sports and recreational activities and provide a pathway from junior participation to the elite level. FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER I am pleased and privileged to present the Indoor Sports Victoria Strategic Plan that will steer our operations from 2014 to Over the next 3 years our plan will be the foundation of our decision making and focus, providing a cornerstone for our operations with a determination to improve indoor sports from an internal and external perspective. The Plan focusses strongly on participation growth and sustainability across various dimensions of Indoor Sports Victoria. Our vision of Sustainable Growth is a simple but strong symbol of what we need to achieve for our industry on and off the court. The Plan is underpinned by 5 strategic pillars which will provide the fundamental framework and delivery of ISV s objectives. Working with the Indoor Sports Victoria Board I look forward to the future as we endeavour to grow commercial and participation benefits in the industry over the next 3 years. 3 OUR VISION SUSTAINABLE GROWTH STRATEGIC PILLARS MEMBERSHIP Indoor Sports Centres Super League Players - Netball & Cricket Supporter memberships PARTICIPATION All players - Juniors, All Abilities, Women & Girls, Open, Masters VicHealth & SRV Juniors PATHWAY High Performance Teams OUR VISION IS SIMPLE SUSTAINABLE GROWTH We plan for growth in our participation numbers across all indoor sports, including juniors, women, and all abilities players, and for an improved Pathway Program for our juniors to elite level. We plan for a sustainable business model for Indoor Sports Victoria as a State Sporting Association. This includes the launch of individual membership for all of our Super League players and a growth plan for Indoor Sports Centre membership. We plan for improved commercial benefits for our Indoor Sports Centre members through sponsorship and affiliations. We plan to implement a business model that provides our industry with sustainable growth. OUR PURPOSE Provide commercial advantages, sports administration and program development support to Indoor Sports Centre members whilst growing participation and pathway programs to elite level representation. 4 MEMBERSHIP Indoor Sports Centres We seek to grow this membership by 25% by Whether we attract full, part, or affiliate members, we seek to grow our membership base to increase opportunity for indoor sports participation and reciprocal commercial and partner benefits. Super League Players from Netball and Cricket A new initiative, we will commence a membership drive for individual members for mutual benefits. Membership will provide a range of benefits including insurance coverage at all ISV member centres. This will also contribute to the commercial sustainability of Indoor Sports Victoria as a State Sporting Association and forms a key strategic point in our business model for the future. Supporter Memberships These memberships will enable participants and supporters, family and friends, to be a Victorian Member, providing benefits of membership to supporters of Victorian Indoor Cricket and Netball and providing commercial benefit to Indoor Sports Victoria. PARTICIPATION All Players Juniors, All Abilities, Women and Girls, Open, Masters We seek to grow participation through various Programs such as Junior Super League development, increasing awareness and participation in the new All Abilities and Women s Premier League Indoor Cricket, the 4 x 4 Sporting Chance Program offering All Abilities participants a variety of sports options, and the development of social sports offerings for the time poor sports consumer. INDOOR SPORTS OPERATIONS Super League Administration Netball and Cricket Provide Super League sports administration and support for all members. Communications and Marketing Website and Social Media Launch and administer a new ISV website, grow traffic to the site, provide e-commerce options on the site, and create an interactive resource for our members. Utilise e-commerce and new components of the site to generate new revenue and sponsorship streams. Seek continued growth in social media communication via Twitter and Facebook. PARTNERSHIP Cricket Victoria Maintain and improve this relationship through coaching accreditation, Pathway access, sharing of intellectual property, assistance with program delivery, and resource availability. Relationship Development with other SSAs Develop MOUs with new prospective indoor sports SSA partners Netball, Volleyball, and Soccer. VicHealth & SRV Our Government partners at VicHealth and Sport and Recreation Victoria will continue to work with ISV in the coming 3 years, supporting the implementation of the 4 x 4 Sporting Chance Program and initiatives for women in sport. Our Diversity Action Plan (DAP) is a significant supporting document complementing this Strategic Plan. PATHWAY Juniors In conjunction with Cricket Australia, deliver an introductory program of indoor cricket for 8-12 year olds. Develop a junior Super League Cricket Competition as a means of getting and keeping juniors involved in the sport and provide the capacity for clubs to develop junior players. Continue growth for female participation promoting opportunity girls to be actively involved. High Performance Teams Seek continual improvement of representative squads through coach development and accreditation. Grow Super League participation numbers and utilize existing Cricket Victoria relationship for access and development of elite level players. 6 7
