Between September 17 and 24 the Brazilian Film Festival will bring the best of Brazilian Cinema to Miami. Considered the main showcase of Brazilian film releases in the US, Miami BRAFF reaches its 20th edition showing a diverse panorama of the latest Brazilian audiovisual productions. First-run movies and US Premieres take place in Miami exhibiting the best of Brazilian cinema. In 2016 Miami celebrates 20 years of Brazilian Film Festival with four programs curated by Inffinito founders and directors Adriana L. Dutra, Cláudia Dutra and Viviane B. Spinelli: Braff Summer Series, Competitive Screenings and Brazilian Female Film Directors Screenings. On September 17 the 20th Brazilian Film Festival of Miami kicks off with US premiere of Enchanted (Encantados) (2014), Tizuka Yamasaki s love story centered in the mythical world of the Caruanas, at New World Symphony Soundscape Park. Director Yamasaki will attend along with film main subject, tribe s medicine woman Pajé Zeneida, who will be giving her blessing on this magic night. Tizuka will be the greatest honor of this edition representing all Brazilian women in cinema. She began her career in 1974 as assistant director. In 1980 Tizuka debuted with feature Gaijin and has since maintained a constant and prolific career.

3 Festival continues from September 18 to 20 at the Miami Beach Cinematheque screening acclaimed productions Jonah by Lô Politi, Marias by Joanna Mariani and Little book of Love 2 by Sandra Werneck (2016) a sequel of 1997 Brazilian Film Festival winner and the Brazilian Female Film Directors Screenings focusing on women s audiovisual achievements with debates on women equality in contemporary society. The Competitive screenings will be hosted once again at the wonderful art decostyle Colony Theatre from September 21 to 24. Films in competition are premieres in Miami and represent a diverse panorama of the latest Brazilian productions. The comedy A Boyfriend for my Wife (2016) will be presented by actress Ingrid Guimarães and Director Julia Rezende. Also in the festival line-up greatly expected Chatô: The King of Brazil (2015), Campo Grande (2016) and Stronger than the World: The Story of José Aldo (2016), based on the story of the Brazilian MMA Champion. The Crystal Lens award will be given to best feature film voted by audience at the Festival s closing night, followed by the screening of NISE: The Heart of Madness (2016) winner of 2016 Best Film Public Choice award at the Cine Fest Brasil in Montevideo and Buenos Aires.
