We promise to help you reduce your carbon footprint and to recycle and re-use your furniture waste.
100% landfill avoidance. Traditionally all types of old furniture have gone to landfill providing many waste management challenges Mattresses for example can take over 10 years to decompose A double mattress takes up c. 23 cubic feet of landfill space and does not compact well Springs can also get tangled in compacting machinery Divans can also create dangerous voids To protect the environment and to help reduce landfill volumes, we have created a furniture disposal and recycling service, which diverts furniture waste from landfill Providing not only a zero landfill solution, but also a source of recycled raw materials and fuel for other industries and manufacturing processes For more details on how we can help you reduce your carbon footprint and to re-use your waste, please contact Steve Bailey on
A cost effective, green and responsible alternative to landfill. From its accredited waste transfer centres, The Furniture Recycling Company supplies a unique waste disposal and recycling service for a wide range of bedroom, living room and dining room furniture recycling metal, wood, all upholstery textiles and fillings. This national service provides a zero landfill process for retailers, hoteliers, local authorities and the wider public sector, meeting everyone s environmental objectives, whilst re-using recycled raw materials for a range of alternative manufacturing processes. The Furniture Recycling Company, part of the Keen and Toms Group, manufacturers of Hypnos mattresses and divan beds, provides a national collection, disposal and recycling service for beds, upholstered furniture and wooden furniture ensuring a low cost, green and responsible alternative to landfill. Using Hypnos s detailed day-to-day understanding of the bed and furniture industry s logistics patterns, covering both the contract hotel bed market and retail furniture market, this waste disposal and recycling service has been designed to protect the environment and to help reduce landfill volumes, providing not only a zero landfill solution, but also a source of recycled raw materials and fuel for other industries. By utilising some of Hypnos s existing national transport network of delivery vehicles, which used to return empty, The Furniture Recycling Company is able to schedule an efficient collection and disposal service to minimise the carbon footprint associated with multiple independent disposals, eliminating the need for extra handling and transport to take beds and furniture to landfill sites, thereby reducing the carbon footprint associated with current disposal methods.
A cost effective, green and responsible alternative to landfill. Beds and furniture which are diverted from landfill are collected by Hypnos s transport and delivered to The Furniture Recycling Company s accredited and secure waste transfer centres. Skilled labour deconstructs and then separates all materials for recycling. Nothing is wasted and nothing ends up in landfill; our focus is purely on how to recycle and re-use the waste, creating value and benefits for other industries. Nothing is wasted and nothing ends up in landfill This disposal and recycling service will help furniture retailers and the hospitality industry alike, providing a responsible solution for homes and hotels, even cruise liners! Equally this service will help the public sector, from prisons to student or military accommodation. There will always be a strong demand to dispose of an old mattress, an old bed, or an old piece of furniture, on receipt of new, replacement products. A number of national high street retailers and independent retailers have created Partnerships with The Furniture Recycling Company and have integrated this disposal service into their consumer offer, confident in providing not only another value-added service but also an environmentally friendly solution. Providing not only a zero. landfill solution, but also a source of recycled raw materials and fuel for other industries
The scale of our involvement with hotel and retail bed disposal inevitably led Hypnos Limited to create The Furniture Recycling Company and to establish a national network of waste transfer centres We provide a responsible end-of-life mattress and furniture disposal solution, using empty back loads to collect product and provide a carbon neutral solution This unique furniture waste recycling solution for beds, upholstered furniture and wooden furniture provides a cost effective, green and responsible alternative to landfill We manually deconstruct all furniture, including mattresses, then separate all materials for recycling Metal hinges and springs are recycled back into steel products; timber into MDF, wood shavings or Biomass fuel; foam reused in carpet underlay or other insulation products; textiles recycled into insulation products for the Automotive industry We recycle all new furniture packaging waste too
Why recycle furniture? Recycling is the act of processing used materials, into new products in order to; Prevent waste of potentially useful materials Create a source of recycled raw materials for re-use in other industries Reduce landfill volumes Reduce consumption of fresh raw materials Reduce energy usage Reduce air and water pollution Reduce the need for conventional waste disposal Reduce carbon emissions The Furniture Recycling Company (UK) Ltd Longwick Road Princes Risborough Buckinghamshire HP27 9RS Tel: Fax:
