Workshop 3: Institutional Visit organisation and implementation of internationalisation 20 th -22 nd May 2014, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland As participants develop their understanding of internationalisation and refine what it might mean for their own specific institutional context, the focus of Workshop 3 will be around identifying the most relevant issues in the Colleges and seeking to learn from the experience of the WUT colleagues. This will be done through a series of interviews with both academics and administrators to understand how specific opportunities have been developed The intention of this Work Package is to assist colleagues in considering the adequacy and effectiveness of their international strategy, activities and operations at their institutions and, with the help of discussions with fellow participants and the trainer, to map out areas of improvement and potential further directions for development. This will occur through programme specific activities carried out in the period February February and challenges overcome in areas such as international mobility, internationalisation of the curriculum, managing international partnerships, enhancing research through internationalisation and creating appropriate management structures for internationalisation.

2 The first day of the workshop will start with a presentation of WUT with a focus on its approach to internationalisation. This will be followed by the first round of interviews in which participants will ask their questions to colleagues at WUT. The afternoon will be dedicated to a tour of the university campus and end with reflections on the day s learning. The second day will be divided into two parts. The morning session will be dedicated to carrying out further rounds of interviews and there will be time to reflect on the learning. The afternoon session will take place off campus with a visit to the Museum of Polish Jews. An evening event has been organised to enable participants to enjoy a meal at a typical Polish restaurant. The third day of the workshop will start with the last two rounds of interviews and a reflection on the learning before opening a new topic for the workshop series on measuring internationalisation. This will be done through a case study of WUT and their approach to measuring outcomes. The workshop will end with a reflection by the participants on how to capture the learning in an action plan that can be implemented in their own institutions. 10 Buses and trams A wide network of buses and trams covers the entire city. It will allow you to access all major city attractions within 15 minutes. Tram 15 stops in front of the University and takes you to the city centre in 5 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from newsagents or directly at ticket machines inside buses. In general, a single fare ticket is 1.10 Euro. For more options please see the table below. Tickets other than a single fare ticket can be bought only at the newsagents.
