1 2º COC-D GRAMMAR PRESENT SIMPLE - AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES El Presente Simple de los verbos en inglés (excepto to be ) utiliza la misma forma del infinitivo para todas las personas, con la excepción de la tercera persona del singular. Singular 1 ST I live in New York 2 ND You live in Belfast He lives in Cardiff 3 RD She lives in London It lives in Edinburgh Plural We live in Brighton You live in Liverpool They live in Manchester En la forma afirmativa del presente simple, la tercera persona del singular añade una s, aunque hay que tener en cuenta algunas consideraciones: Los verbos que terminan en -ss, -x, -sh, -ch, -o añaden -es : ** I wash my hair - My sister washes her hair. ** I go to school - My sister goes to school. Los verbos que terminan en consonante + y cambian la -y por -ies : ** I study English - My sister studies English. El verbo have es un verbo irregular y tiene una forma especial: ** I have a shower in the mornings - My sister HAS a shower in the morning. Usos: Usamos el presente simple para expresar acciones habituales o que se realizan con cierta regularidad: ** I have breakfast at eight o clock every day. Para expresar verdades universales: ** Lions live in the jungle.

2 ADVERBIOS DE FRECUENCIA Utilizamos estos adverbios para expresar la frecuencia con la que hacemos algo. 100% Always Usually Often Sometimes Seldom Rarely 0% Never Los adverbios de frecuencia van siempre delante del verbo principal: ** I usually have a sandwich at school ** My dad rarely buys the newspaper.
