4 CONTEXT FOR THE TASK Students have been focusing on visual representation of ideas, thoughts and opinions. This task will provide ongoing opportunity for students to continue developing and expressing ideas and opinions that can be expressed in both a creative and expressive manner. They will continue to develop skills in both still and moving digital film. Students will extend their narrative writing skills and develop these in a visual representation. Students can investigate the relationships within the conceptual framework and how personal, social and cultural differences can be examined and represented in photographic and digital works. Students can focus on conventions and innovations in the use of tools and technologies in still, interactive and moving forms to represent ideas, beliefs and perceptions about the world through the frames and conceptual framework. Literacy Students develop their literacy skills in the use of their journal for written evaluation and reflection about their own and other artists work. Students also develop visual literacy through the development of skills in viewing and interpreting a diverse range of photographic and digital works as text. Numeracy In this course students develop skills in judging proportions, sizes, time and spatial relationships in making photographic and digital works. Particular photographic and digital works such as computer-generated works employ complex mathematical knowledge and skills requiring precise measurement and geometry. Students are also required to use numeracy skills to manage and plan time framing and image, canvas and resolution sizing and adjustments. TASK RUBRIC Demonstrate the intended narrative in a film of a 2-4 minute duration Demonstrate use of a variety media skills and techniques to develop an original artwork Demonstrate consideration to the relationships of the 4 agents of the Conceptual Framework. Research and analyse relevant information. Including a written narrative, storyboard and on going visual and written development of work Reflect the above in a series of images, notes and references in journal Produce a short film. (Use of film taken yourself) Display work in a professional manner Compile a correctly formatted bibliography

6 THE TASK Journal Inclusions must be, yet not limited to ~ mind map/flow charts reflecting idea generation ~ personal written narrative ~ story board / script reflecting narrative ~ ongoing images as work develops with notes of progress and evaluation ~ for film: intended dialogue, music, camera and lighting techniques and ideas. ~ 200 word review of How to make a Music Video clip with a technical focus. Artwork FILM: (done in pairs) of 2-4 minutes telling a previously specified narrative. The film must in some way feature the theme HAPPY 24 HOURS. The film is to be edited and produced to play on any computer or DVD. Film may be silent, to music, narrated, use dialogue or any combination. All work is to be original. No images are to be sourced from the internet. An E or 0 grade will be given for plagiarised artwork. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Short film: Must be converted to quicktime or similar and SUBMITTED VIA HIVE.

Story Board (gives indication of film story and steps to completion) Script includes camera shots and angles, character instructions, dialogue and sound effects JOURNAL Extensive documentation of concept development and refinement Documentation of material and technique sampling and experimentation Refinement of ideas in to final concept Ongoing evaluation and progress documentation Creative Short Film including the specified signature.
