Prepare additional documents for Korean visa issuance. - [Degree from Korea] Original certificate with the degree number - [Degree from foreign countries] Issued or translated in English and 1Apostilled or 2Notarized by Korean consulate(embassy) in your home country or 3Notarized by Foreign consulate(embassy) in Korea. - Document submission by will be rejected. - All application documents must arrive at the graduate school office before the deadlines. - No application fee for international students. - Each department will decide the way for an interview and contact applicants individually. - Contact each department office directly to check when and how to conduct an interview. - Graduate School Homepage (English) Admission Admission Guidelines Admission Result - Log-in with your application number and password which you set for application, then check the result. - Graduate School will check whether admitted students will enter Inha Univ. or not and where they stay by sending an . - Submission of the medical examination result(there will be a special notice for successful applicants in late June.) - No reply about the offer of admission or a serious problem on the medical examination result can be the reason for rejecting issuance of the formal certificate of admission. - International Center of Inha University will issue the formal certificate of admission. - Admitted students will get individual guidance for Visa(D-2) application based on countries where they stay and visa types. - After checking student ID number, access Inha portal system ( complete course registration, and print out the tuition bill. - Tuition payment : Finance team on the first floor at the main building or bank transfer (Hana Bank) - It is mandatory to attend the orientation. - Detailed information will be sent by

Degree Program Degree Program Master's Doctoral Integrated Duration 2 years + α 2 years + α 4 years + α 'Duration' : The minimum enrollment period to complete the degree program. No Master's degree will be given after completing integrated Master's and Doctoral degree program. Only Ph.D. will be conferred

5 3. Department (Major) From this semester, submitting TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) is mandatory. (level 3 or higher) But, some department can be applied by submitting English score instead. * Y = Yes (Those who have level 3 or above of TOPIK are only allowed to apply) - In these departments, application without level 3 or above of TOPIK will be rejected. - The minimum level is higher than level 3 for some departments and majors. Check it carefully. * N = No (Those who have level 3 or above of TOPIK are also allowed to apply. application will be accepted without level 3 or above of TOPIK. But Official certificate of English Proficiency must meet one of the score below instead.) 9 4. Eligibility Category Application type A Application type B Nationality Applicants who have foreign citizenship. Common eligibility Degree [Master's and Integrated] The applicant must have (or will achieve before the date of entrance) a Bachelor degree (4-year program) or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than a Bachelor degree. [Doctoral] The applicant must have (or will achieve before the date of entrance) a Master's degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than a Master's degree. Type of eligibility Applicants whose parents have foreign citizenship. Applicants who have completed entire education courses (elementary, junior high, high school, and university) outside of South Korea. - Documents which prove entire education are required : Official certificates of each degree/graduation & transcript Applicants who does NOT meet 'Application type A' can only apply as 'Application type B'. Please check the required official certificate of Language Proficiency from each department first before submitting applications. Applicants should be in good health, both mentally and physically, to stay in Korea for graduate studies. (It is mandatory to submit the result of the medical examination after getting admission.) 5. Alternatively Chinese applicants can submit both 敎 育 部 學 歷 證 書 電 子 注 冊 備 案 表 and ( 學 位 ) 認 證 報 告. - Documents should be translated in English/Korean and notarized officially, if they are in other languages. - Chinese applicants have to submit certificates of both degree and graduation. - Applicants who achieved a degree from Pakistan have to submit the certificate of degree with the confirmation seal of the HEC(Higher Education Commission) of Pakistan. - Applicants for the doctoral program must submit official certificates of degree about both Bachelor and Master's program. - Applicants in the last semester of Bachelor or Master's program must submit the anticipated graduation certificate mentioning the exact date of graduation along with a transcript of all completed semesters. The final degree certificate must be submitted before entrance after getting admission. Or your admission will be canceled. - Applicants who currently stay in Korea from below 21 countries must submit two certificates of degree; one for Inha University and the other for Immigration Office about visa affairs. Transcripts apostilled or notarized by Korean or foreign consulate(embassy) are recommended. - Documents should be translated in English/Korean and notarized officially, if they are in other languages. - Applicants for the doctoral program must submit official transcripts about both Bachelor and Master's program. - Applicants who achieved a degree from Pakistan have to submit transcripts with the confirmation seal of the HEC(Higher Education Commission) of Pakistan. - Transcripts must contain credits and obtained scores(marks) of each subject, C.G.P.A.(Cumulative Grade Point Average) or percentage of applicant's total grade about the whole program

10 - Applicants who transferred during their prior degree program must submit official documents of attendance/enrollment records and transcripts from the previous university/college. - If it is difficult to submit transcripts with C.G.P.A. based on 100 points system or 4.0/4.3/4.5 scales, original transcripts with converted scores from WES(World Education Services, or Foreign Credits( are accepted for C.G.P.A. calculation. Please submit these transcripts additionally with official transcripts issued by the university. The converted version of transcripts should be based on the course-by-course type. 6) A letter of recommendation (From a professor of your former university with his contact Information & original Signature & date) 7) Personal Statement (Designated form: Download) 8) Study plan (Designated form: Download, write your signature) - Those who have performance of research paper are required to submit the copy. (The number of (excellent) research paper applicants can submit is at most two.) 9) Certificate of Bank balance (Original, More than USD 13,000 deposited, valid until admission date.) - Date of issuance should be after mid-february, ) A copy of Passport - Applicants who currently stay in Korea should submit the copy of alien registration card(both front and back side) additionally. 11) Official certificate of Language Proficiency (Korean: TOPIK, English: TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC/TEPS) - Original Document should be submitted. - Strongly recommend to submit one of them to achieve Jungseok international scholarship from Graduate school. - It is mandatory to submit level 3 or above of TOPIK for some departments and majors. * Those who want to apply to the department which doesn't require TOPIK level 3 or above, must submit Official certificate of English Proficiency instead. ( Please refer to page 3 ~ 6 ) - TOPIK : Original certificate of internet issued version with 16 numbers in the upper right corner (Visit - TOEFL(IBT)/IELTS : Original certificate directly sent from ETS/British Council(IELTS) - Only valid scores of Korean/English profiency test will be accepted. Usually they are valid for two years. - Academic Module of IELTS will be acceptable only. General Training Module of IELTS and TOEFL(ITP) cannot be accepted. 12) Letter of consent (for degree verification) - Designated form: Download, write your signature - Applicants for doctoral program must submit two copies. (Both Bachelor & Master's degree) 13) Parents' nationality certificate - Official documents which prove 1relationship between the applicant and his/her parents and 2their nationality respectively. - Copies of parents' passport will be accepted to show only their nationality. - (For Chinese applicants) Submit the notarized document of 親 屬 ( 親 族 ) 關 係 證 明 書 including Chinese ID number. - (For Pakistani applicants) Submit the official documents of family registration issued by NADRA(National Database and Registration Authority), Pakistan. - Applicants who currently stay in Korea from below 21 countries must submit two certificates of parents' nationality ; 1Apostilled or 2Notarized by Korean consulate(embassy) in your home country or 3Notarized by Foreign consulate(embassy) in Korea. They must meet at least one of the following conditions. 1 Obtain a grade point average(g.p.a.) above 80% in the previous degree program 2 Minimum score of official certificates for Language Proficiency Language Language Proficiency Test Score TOEFL PBT CBT 550 or above 210 or above English TOEIC IBT 80 or above 700 or above TEPS 600 or above IELTS 5.5 or above Korean TOPIK 3 or above Only full-time students are allowed to receive scholarship from Inha University. 12 5) Scholarship duration Degree program Master's Doctoral Integrated Duration Up to the 4 th semester Up to the 6 th semester Up to the 10 th semester 6) Scholarship Evaluation - The amount of scholarship is subject to the result of scholarship evaluation in each semester. - Factors of Scholarship Evaluation 1 Accomplishment of study plan 2 GPA (Under 3.0/4.5 Lose Jungseok International Scholarship) 3 Language ability (Korean / English) 4 Research achievements (published papers in academic journals or presentations in academic conferences, etc.) Priority for selection of Jungseok International Scholarship(Full tuition fee) 1 Select max. 5 scholars among professors or lecturers who work at the esteemed university in foreign country Submit a letter of recommendation from the president or the dean of the university, an original certificate of working position(employment), and a letter of recommendation from a professor at Inha University. 2 Select max. 5 scholars among those who get recommendation from a professor at Inha University. * Applicants who pass the pre-interview abroad by professors at INHA or have excellent research achievements can be recommended. * One professor is allowed to recommend only one applicant for Full Jungseok International Scholarship. Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor at Inha University. There is no designated form, but it should include application number, recommendee's personal information, reason of recommendation and excellence. Issuance of the formal certificate of admission Graduate School will check whether admitted students will enter Inha University or not by sending an . No reply about the offer of admission can be the reason for rejecting issuance of the formal certificate of admission. There will be a special notice about the submission of the medical examination result to successful applicants in late Jan.. Graduate School will give the designated form for the medical examination result. Several items of inspection will be fixed mandatorily. The formal certificate of admission will be issued after checking the medical examination result in July., If a successful applicant has a serious illness, his or her admission can be canceled. International Center of Inha University will issue the formal certificate of admission for successful applicants. Visa(D-2) application Individual Guidance for Visa(D-2) Students in other countries (Including China) - The staff at the international center will send the formal certificate of admission by postal mail(ems) in mid-july. - After receiving it, admitted students must visit Korean Embassy in their own country and apply for Korean visa(d-2). 14 9. Course registration, Tuition payment, Orientation, Korean language course, and Dormitory A. Student ID assignment : In late July, 2015 / on Graduate School Homepage (Search ID) B. Course registration 1) Period of Course registration : in early Aug., 2015 ( Please check the period notice on the Graduate School Homepage in early Feb.) 2) How to complete course registration 1 Log in INHA portal site( - Successful applicants will get a notice about ID and Password for INHA Portal. 2 Click the menu of 'INS(학사행정)' 3 Click '(Graduate)Courses' > 'Course Registration' in the left-side menu, and then choose and save courses which you want to take for your first semester. 4 Confirm your course registration records carefully from the menu of Confirm Course Registration on INHA portal site. 3) If you have any questions about course registration, contact the coordinator in charge of courses by phone( ). C. Tuition Payment (Enrollment) 1) Period of Tuition Payment : Last week of Aug., 2015 ( Please check the notice on the Graduate School Homepage in mid-feb.) 2) How to complete tuition payment 1 Get the tuition bill from the INS program( and print it out. 2 Wire-transfer the tuition fee to the designated bank [account in your tuition bill or go to the Finance Team on the first floor at the main building to pay the tuition fee after checking the amount of the tuition, entrance fee, and student union fee. Korean language course 1) Foreign students must submit TOPIK 3th Level or higher for admission and must submit TOPIK 4th Level or higher for graduation. (mandatory) But those who admitted the department which submitting english score is allowed to, they must pass 'Korean language for foreigners' (both beginner & intermediate level) or submit TOPIK 3th level for graduation. (some Engineering, Natural Science department. etc. Refer to 3~6page) 2) In INHA university, there are classes named 'Korean language for foreigners (Beginner, intermediate, advanced)' - (Do not bear any credits) There will be a Korean Language Placement Test in the beginning of each semester to assign a certain level to you

Notice about purchasing medical insurance. 1) Purchasing insurance as foreign undergraduate student is mandatory while attending college. 2) Purchasing of the insurance designated by INHA is mandatory. (This is included in tuition fee payment bill) 3) Students can be refunded if he/she has either of four kinds of insurance below by applying for refund during September(Please check the notice of our homepage for specific notice) 1 Korean national health insurance 2 other domestic insurance, 3 overseas insurance which can be applied in Korea. An insurance policy should be under your name, and should cover medical bills involved in diseases(consultation fees, medical treatment fees, prescription & compounding fees, hospitalization fees, etc.), and insurance must valid from Sep. 1st, 2015 to Feb. 28, If one of conditions above does not meet, you cannot apply for refund. G. About dormitory application - Please refer to notice of the webpage carefully on end of June ( Dormitory Application Announcement) 정보마당 공지사항 10. Other issues 1) Applicants cannot change application records after the application deadline. (Changes of degree program or department(major) are strictly prohibited.) 2) Applicants are not allowed to apply for two or more departments simultaneously. 3) If application records are not true or there is a missing document, applicants must take responsibilities for them and admission/entrance will be canceled. 4) All submitted documents will not be returned to applicants. 5) If it is needed, Graduate School can ask applicants to submit additional documents and further explanation related to admission process. 6) Detailed evaluation scores of admission decision will not be disclosed. 7) Applicants who transferred during their prior degree program must submit official documents of attendance/enrollment records and transcripts from the previous university/college. 8) Check the expiry date of Korean or English language proficiency test certificate before submitting it. The test date should be before the deadline of online application and the original certificate must arrive at the graduate school office before the deadline of document submission. 9) If it is needed for issuance of the formal certificate of admission and Korean visa affairs, successful applicants should submit the additional certificate of bank balance to Inha University. According to regulations of Ministry of Justice(Immigration Office) Inha University should check successful applicants' financial condition again before issuing the formal certificate of admission. 10) If you are a prospective graduate, submit enrollment certificate or verification of statement of anticipated degree instead of the certificate of degree during the application period. Submit the official final certificate of degree and graduation to the graduate school office at least before the date of entranc.
