1 HID Xenon Headbeam Lights Installation guide High quality! Do not touch glass part of the bulb with your hands during installation. When installing HID Xenon lights, place the ballast in a drafty area to dissipate heat. Do not place the ballast near the engine or fan which will give off a lot of heat. If the ballast temperature goes up to 105 degrees, the overheat protection will automatically shut off the power. During installation make sure you have a good ground for the negative. Ensure it is grounded to metal. A poor ground will cause the HID Xenon light to flicker. Avoid scratching the bulb when installing. Don't touch the glass part of the bulb with your bare hands. Use gloves. Ensure all connections e.g. the plug in of the lights socket, the positive and negative of the power, are well connected, Fail to do so may result in performance shortfall. When adjusting the bulb, don't let the end of the bulb touch the inner glare shield of the headlamp assembly. Any connections made directly to the battery, should go thru safety check before connecting power. In all cases, don't disassemble or modify the system. Warranty may be voided if you do so. We will not be responsible for any mishap that occurs. In case of replacement or if repair is needed, seek help from the nearest professional shop. In order to ensure safety, the installation should be performed after engine is totally cool down. You must disconnect the power source before installing. Before installing, ensure the vehicle is in the neutral or park position. Be careful, as the output of the ballast will produce high voltage.

2 Do not touch the bulbs after it is turned on to prevent scalded. Don't gazes straight into the light when you turn on the headlamp, it will hurt your eyes. Don't put the HID system near any combustible goods, such as papers, oil, spray, diluents etc. Don't adjust the level of the beams too high, it will severely effect the safety operation of other drivers. Be careful of the bulb breakage during installation process. 1. General installation steps: Easy installation in general goes like done as described below. Step 1: After disconnecting the power of the two headlamps and after removing the bulb access cover of the low beam, high beam or both, drill a small hole in the removed cover. The HID-Xenon bulb wire is passed through this hole for your headlamp upgrade. On the wire is a supplied adjustable tight rubber waterproof grommet to be fitted into the hole. Next, the HID-Xenon bulb is fitted into the headlamp's base and locked into position via the factory locking device. No cutting of wiring is required on the installation. Step 2:Reinstall the access panel and close it. Secure the small ballast to a convenient location in the motor-bay.

3 Step 3: Attach power to the headlamp and the upgrade is completed. Headlamp realignment is recommended but only required if you have removed the headlamp during the upgrade which sometimes can be avoided (model dependant). It takes about 1-2hours to complete the installation. No special tools are required. Hand tools only. BONUS: Each convertible kit is easily reversible or transferable! If you sell your car, it will take only a few moments to reverse the installation and re-install your original halogen bulbs as before. You can either sell the HID conversion kit or re-install it in your new car with the same or another bulb to fit. All you need to do is seal the small hole on the bulb access cover and you are done. When installation, if the socket is metal, check the diameter of the hole first to find whether it is too small. If the diameter is less than 12mm, the hole should be filed larger. When burnished, the socket opening should be downward and the hole filed from inner to outer to avoid metal debris from falling into the headlight assembly. If the socket is made of plastic, first check the installation hole size and see whether there is a notch under the hole, if not, a new notch should be open by small file so as to make sure there is a enough room for putting into the bulb body as well as the ceramic annulations. When burnished, the socket opening should be downward and file the hole from inner to outer which can avoid the plastic debris from falling into the headlight assembly. When installing, if the lamp assembly comes with plastic waterproof cover, drill a 23 mm hole and thread the wire through, seal the hole with sealant this will provide water proof to the system.

4 When installing H4 (H/L), if the bulb's tip touches the light cap in the assembly, the cap may be removed to prevent the Hi/Lo feature of the bulb from function normally. Removing the cap will not affect the light assembly's focus point. After completing the installation, if astigmatism occurs, ensure the bulb sit in the socket correctly. Make sure you are using the right bulb for the application because the bulbs are not interchangeable and it will short the life span of the bulb if installed incorrectly. 2. 6 HID Xenon Headbeam Lights Professional System for Retailers & Installers What is color temperature? The color temperature is a scale to measure the color of light output. The higher up the scale the light is, the less bright it becomes. For HID headlights, the white color gives the most visibility followed by the blue light. For better lighting performance, we carry white light (6000K) and blue light (8000K) bulbs only. Check the HID color chart for reference. What is the difference between genuine XENON HID lights and Xenon gas-filled bulbs? High Intensity Discharge (HID) is a type of lighting technology that replaces the filament of the light bulb with Xenon gas. The gas is ignited to produce an arc of light, when high voltage is applied. The amount of light output is three times that of a standard halogen bulb. The lamps also glow at a higher light temperature (closer to natural sunlight) that gives a distinct color and appearance. Other companies produce halogen bulbs that are gas-filled. They still have filaments as they are halogen technology, but the gas gives the bulb a bluer color when lit. Xenon-filled halogen bulbs produce little or no more light output than standard halogen bulbs of the same wattage. "It should be noted that halogen technology is not comparable to the Xenon discharge technology, fitted as original equipment to more and more of the world' finest cars. - Philips" DO NOT BE FOOLED BY COMPANIES THAT OFFER HID-LOOK BULBS! They are not a true HID XENON light bulbs.

7 How long will these bulbs last? HID XENON lamps are designed to last for the life of your vehicle. They will run for over 2,000 hours. Our conversion kits and bulbs are made of the finest materials available. Can I just purchase a stronger watt halogen bulb to get a brighter light? HID XENON bulbs are 35 watts while traditional halogen bulbs are 55 watts. Even though HID XENON lamps draw less current, they produce 3 times the light output as the higher wattage halogen bulbs. Increasing the wattage will make the light a little brighter but still, much dimmer that the HID XENON lamps. Also, AMPS = (BULB WATTS X 2) / BATTERY VOLTAGE OUTPUT. Why can I not just replace the halogen bulb in my vehicle with HID XENON bulbs without having to purchase the entire kit? Motorcycles and automobiles currently use a 12 Volt electrical system for their headlamps. XENON HID lighting systems require over 23,000 volts to ignite the bulbs. Once lit, they only require 85 volts to keep running. Our kits include a power pack that is necessary for the lamps to turn on. The input of the power pack is 6-18 volts. It is an integral part of the system. You DO NOT need any additional components to install the HID XENON bulb into the original socket of the halogen bulb. What does the HID XENON conversion kit include? We supply you with all the necessary components and hardware to install the equipment in your vehicle. Each kit includes: 2 direct plug-in HID XENON bulbs, 2 ballasts (transformer / igniter unit), 6 PCS screw,2 PCS mounting bracket,6 PCS nylon wire ties,2 PCS wiring.

8 Can I Install the kit myself? For anyone who is mechanically inclined, this installation is considered "do-it-yourself". While a typical installation takes approximately an hour, it can vary depending on the application (conversion or auxiliary). We also provide you with a full set of easy-to-read, step-by-step instructions to guide you. Could I re-install the original halogen bulbs after the HID XENON has been installed? With the growing popularity of leasing vehicles, a big concern is whether or not you can bring the vehicle back to its original factory condition. Our kits install with little or no modifications to your vehicle. If needed, the entire kit can be removed and the original halogen bulbs replaced. This kit can be re-installed in another vehicle that uses the same bulb size. Will I lose the ability to use the High beams? All originally supplied HID XENON headlights from automotive manufacturers use a dual bulb configuration for High and Low beam. A traditional halogen bulb is used for the High beam while a HID XENON bulb is utilized for the Low beam. Our kits are intended to replace the Low-beam components of the lighting system while still keeping the High beam halogen bulb fully operational. Some vehicles use a single halogen bulb for both the High and Low beam (like H4). We also offer the Dual Beam / Yellow H4 kit where both High and

9 Low beam are preserved. Lumen (lm) Lumen is the international unit (SI) of luminous flux (quality of lights). For example, a dinner candle produces about 12 lumens and a standard 60-watt incandescent bulb produces 830 lumens. The higher the number is, the brighter the light is. Kelvin (K) A basic unit of thermodynamic temperature (color temperature) used to measure the whiteness of the light output. The higher the number is, the whiter the light is. When over 5000K the light begins to turn to blue as daylight.

Symptom: The lamp doesn't light up. Remedy: Check whether all connections are made properly. Use a multi-meter to test whether the polarity and the connections of the wires are correct. 2. Symptom: Only one lamp works or flickers Remedy: disconnect the power source, replace with a good bulb or ballast with a known functional one to determine the problem component. If the above method doesn't work please apply power directly to the ballast without going thru the harness to see if the problem lies in the harness itself. 3. Symptom: one or both lights cannot Ignite. In many cases, especially for those cars that have Auto "ON" or Daytime Running Lights. Remedy: Initially, Discharge Bulb turns off just after starting the car, or sometimes, bulb just turns off when driving. 4. Fried ballast, internal damage or burning of the discharge bulb Gas Capsule. Remedy: You MUST Disconnect the Daytime Running Light or Auto Switch ON function immediately before the actual HID Conversion. Due to the steady levels of battery voltage required at 12V, or plus, before the initial Ignition of the HID Xenon equipment, you must prohibit the less voltage draw of car battery at the start time of the HID. Daytime Running Lights are operating at 7V, or less, power output and auto on headlights are always turned on seconds before the car to start the ignition to charge the battery. This means the battery is focusing on charging the ignition and waiting for alternator to recharge it back to 12V. Therefore, in both situations, the battery is drawing much less power than 12V to initially ignite the HID headlight. Do the following, or if you have Daytime Running Light, please follow your car service manual. Disconnect the fuse or wiring of Daytime Running lights

11 only, or if you have Auto Switch On Headlights, please switch the function to Manual Switch On headlights. To avoid further damages, always remember to start your engine before turn on the HID system! Problem: - I just Installed the HID system a few weeks ago, everything worked out fine with system at first. But lately, one or both Discharge Bulbs are beginning to flickering when turning them on. 5. Fried ballast, damaged bulb, and multiple internal wiring damages. Remedy: Disconnect all the connectors immediately. Clean every connector with alcohol. Wait more than 5 minutes (reset ballast Safety Stages Chip) then reconnect or reinstall every connector. Then check all the connections between ballast and factory harness (Power Source); check all the connections between igniters and bulbs (yellow silicone connectors); check your upgraded fuse, they must be rated at 20amps minimum. Remember, every connector has to be 100% well connected to each other. Do not miss wire any connections. 6. Melted plastic burned onto the HID bulb, staining it. Warning: Potential heat spot could cause the bulb to melt, crack, or explode. Do not touch the bulb at any time, especially when it is hot. 7. Bubble created by melted glass from a high wattage (100W) bulb. Dead bulb and potential melting of wiring harness and headlight housing. Remedy: Do not use any bulb higher than 80 watts bulbs in your vehicle.
