2 Missouri Western State University Homecoming Letter to Participants Dear Participants, We are excited to begin this year s Homecoming and hope you are motivated to compete in one of the biggest celebrations of the year. Homecoming will be hosted the week of October We are proud to announce this year's theme is "Griffons Bring Home The Gold" and is focused on paying tribute to the Olympics. This packet contains the information for committee contacts, calendar of events, deadlines and list of themes to choose from. Each group can select their top 3 choices of themes. The committee will accept the forms in the order they are submitted and each contact with which theme your group will represent. First come first serve will be how themes are decided for each group. The committee is planning and organizing many events for you to compete in and enjoy. We encourage all to participate, whether for points or for fun. Even if you are not part of an organization, you can still put together your own team of 5+ members and compete. Our goal is to enjoy, and make this Homecoming at Missouri Western one to remember. 6 Missouri Western State University Homecoming Create the Board: Campus Decorating Looney Multi-Purpose Room Deadline: Tuesday, October 4 th, no later than 3:00pm Objective: Rules/Info: o Promote school spirit and homecoming theme around campus by designing signs to be placed around Downs Drive the week of Homecoming. o Boards must incorporate and relate to your organizations designated homecoming theme. o Include: Organization name, theme, and year (EMPHASIZE THE YEAR) in the design o Signs must be no larger than 4'x8' in size o Organizations may request a board to be provided by the Homecoming Committee on their entry form. o Signs may be picked up in Logan Hall time to be determined by committee. o Signs may be dropped off in Looney Multi- Purpose Room on October 4 no later than 3:00 PM. o Organizations will lose points if late, still wet, or do not meet the above requirements. I.E. size, year, theme, organization name, and slogan. o Signs MUST be dry when dropped off.

7 Missouri Western State University Homecoming Objective: Light the Torch (Optional) o Get everyone involved by creating a torch symbolizing the theme of their group. Rules/Info: o Each group/organization needs to create a torch that symbolizes their theme. o Torch needs to include group s name. o Torch needs to be no larger than 2-2 ½ feet tall. *5 points will be awarded if you create a torch; no points will be deducted if you do not participate.*
