Harris 2545 Bellwood Road Richmond, Virginia My career began in forensics as a criminalist with the Independence, Missouri, Police Department Crime Laboratory in In this capacity I experienced evidence during the collection at the crime scene and as the analyst in the laboratory. After eight years I moved to become a Forensic Chemist and a member of the Major Crime Scene Investigators team at the Springfield, Missouri, Police Department Crime Laboratory. With five years experience there, I moved to become a Senior Forensic Scientist with the Department of Forensic Science for the Commonwealth of Virginia. I was a statewide analyst and consultant for bloodstain pattern interpretation and a statewide instructor and speaker. I was the primary instructor for sixteen years with the Forensic Science Academy which focuses on crime scene technology and was promoted to Forensic Scientist Supervisor in I retired from the Department of Forensic Science in I have been fortunate to serve on several committees, including the National Institute of Justices Technical Working Group for Crime Scene Investigation and was coauthor of the research report Crime Scene Investigation A Guide for Law Enforcement. I was one of only twenty-eight bloodstain pattern analysts to participate in the National Institute of Justice funded research project Reliability Measures for Current Methods in Bloodstain Pattern Analysis. I have testified in cases, some high profile, in Circuit Courts and Federal Courts. I belong to professional organizations to help stay current with the fast pace of technology in this scientific field. My memberships include the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts, the International Association for Identification, and the Virginia Homicide Investigators Association.
