Pruitt 2545 Bellwood Road Richmond, Virginia My career began in 1975 with the Newport News Police Department; within four years I was promoted to Detective and assigned to the Crime Scene Unit. During that time I was chosen to attend the Virginia Forensic Science Academy. After twelve years of service with the Police Department, I accepted a position with the Virginia Department of Forensic Science as a Forensic Scientist assigned to the Latent Print Section. During my tenure with the laboratory, I was given the opportunity to become a scientist in forensic imaging. After receiving additional training, I also became an examiner in these additional disciplines that include forensic audio analysis, comparative analysis, digital evidence, mobile phone analysis and forensic video analysis. After twenty five years, advancing to the position of Forensic Scientist Section Supervisor and more than ten years as an ASCLD/LAB Inspector, ISO Assessor and certified as an ASCLD/LAB Technical Assessor and served on the Scientific Working Group for Digital Evidence. I retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia to become co-founder of Integrity Forensics, LLC. During my work experience, I had the occasion to work on many high profile cases, to author and co-author several technical articles and had the opportunity to work and consult on such cases as Jack the Ripper and have instructed many classes for law enforcement officials. In addition, I served as an adjunct professor for Virginia Commonwealth University in the Forensic Master s Program. Employment Co-Owner, Integrity Forensics, US LLC- Richmond, VA. Chief Forensic Scientist-2012 to present Serve as Chief Forensic Scientist for the disciplines of Digital and Multimedia Evidence for law enforcement agencies and private companies and the criminal justice system. In addition, review and develop forensic techniques and quality management systems under ISO\IEC 17025:2005 SCLD/LAB - international accreditation program standards. Qualified by ASCLD/LAB as an assessor in latent prints, crime scenes and digital and multimedia evidence. Certified in mobile phone forensics by Paraben and Cellebrite. Perform accreditation assessment audits and gap analyses for federal, state, and county forensic laboratories. Conduct digital and multimedia evidence examinations, which include the following subdisciplines: audio analysis, comparative analysis, computer forensics, mobile phone forensics and video analysis.
2 Instructs and reviews forensic personnel on the proper techniques and technical methods and documentation for the collection of digital and multimedia evidence. To include the development of policy and procedures in the sub-disciplines of Digital and Multimedia Evidence. Provide proficiency tests in the sub-disciplines of Digital and Multimedia Evidence. Conduct technical reviews and case file reviews for law enforcement and private laboratories for compliance with ISO/IEC Conduct compliance audits under ISO/IEC for ASCLD/LAB Forensic Scientist Section Supervisor (retired), Virginia Department of Forensic Science, Richmond, Virginia (1993 July 1, 2012) Managed the daily operations of the Digital and Multimedia Evidence Section and the Forensic Photography Section. Managed physical design and construction of the digital and multimedia laboratory. Developed and implemented policies and procedures meeting the criteria under ASCLD/LAB International for case management, evidence management, technical and administrative operations and health and safety. Developed and implemented training programs for the sub-disciplines included in digital and multimedia evidence section. In addition, developed professional development defining goals for continuous quality improvement. Conduct technical reviews and case file reviews for compliance with ISO/IEC Provided Expert testimony in the qualified disciplines in state and federal courts. Participated in audits, inspections and assessments of accredited laboratories. Conducted training and presentations on behalf of the Digital and Multimedia Evidence Section and the Virginia Department of Forensic Science, which included law enforcement personnel, Commonwealth Attorneys and Forensic Nurses and students of Virginia Commonwealth University Masters in Forensic Science Program. In addition, was certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia to operate the Automated Fingerprint Identification System. Responsible for the documentation of developed evidence by the use of forensic photography. Provided expert testimony in the qualified disciplines in state and federal courts. Qualified Latent Print Examiner compared developed latent prints to inked fingerprint cards. Manager of the color darkroom where the responsibilities were to develop and print all photographs from a variety of sources to include crime scenes. Provide expert testimony in the area of latent print identification, crime scene processing and collection and preservation of evidence techniques.
