7 All our work placements are paid placements and in addition, as a valued member of the team, you can take advantage of a comprehensive range of benefits this is what we call Accor Advantage. 8 The programme The placement programme will vary slightly from brand to brand and from hotel to hotel depending on your needs and those of the specific hotel. You will be employed as a team member in a Front Office or Food & Beverage role for 48 weeks or a mixture of both. The role may include working in F&B (restaurant and bar); conference and banqueting; front of house; Reception; and possibly reservations or housekeeping. The placement may include an element of supervisory duties towards the end of each module, depending on your success. At the start of your placement, you will receive a work placement schedule and training plan. Each plan is flexible and tailored to the individual and can be changed to suit your needs and the needs of the business. You will also be assigned a buddy to help guide you through the placement year.

9 Training There will be a Welcome to Accor induction training course with an induction checklist, which you will work through during the year to continually identify the skills you are learning. Part of your training will include an overnight stay in the hotel to gain first-hand experience. Your training will include a national qualification for food hygiene, health and safety training, customer service training and environmental awareness training. Help and support is offered to you throughout all of your training. The e-learning you receive will be the same as with any new Accor starter and will be brand-specific and will be completed in the first six months. All new starters will need to complete the new starter checklist. On-the-job training You will follow an individual training plan and be given ongoing support through a weekly meeting with your buddy. This will give you the opportunity to talk about your progression and help identify new skills. You will also undertake our in-house brand-specific training to support you in further development and your future career. Depending on your progression and the specific brand and location you are working in, there may be different opportunities, training or skills development that can be offered to you.

10 Assignment Your Manager and your buddy will also spend quality time with you generating ideas and together agreeing an outline for your proposed project you will need to complete for your university. On completion At the end of your year, you will undertake an exit interview to discuss and evaluate your time at Accor. You will also be presented with an Accor certificate and student assessment form to validate your work experience. We will also discuss with you opportunities to return to Accor once you have graduated.

11 Future career Upon completion of your placement with Accor, you will be given the opportunity to keep in touch with Accor while you complete the last year of your degree. Upon graduating, Accor can offer you: increased chances of finding a job after you graduate exposure of working in another Accor brand the opportunity to be fast-tracked to a managerial position international opportunities Having graduated, Accor will discuss with you suitable opportunities in one of the brands within the UK and the chance to be fast-tracked to a managerial position.

12 Success story Richard Lee General Manager, ibis Northampton I worked for Accor while studying in the F&B department at Novotel Birmingham Centre. After graduating, my first position was as Assistant Manager at ibis Manchester Centre. After two years there, I moved to ibis Bristol Centre in the position of Operations Manager for the opening of the new hotel. I got my first General Manager position four years after graduating at ibis Cardiff Centre and from there I have also done other hotel GM positions in London and Northampton. I think the work experience was really important because it gave me a really good operational grounding in the company. I learnt all the company standards, procedures and systems. It was also great to be inducted into the culture of the company, so by the time I joined ibis and was looking for a management position, I was very comfortable in the Accor culture: I knew a lot of the senior staff already and it gave me a good basis to go into a management role.
