2 Introduction The purpose of this document is to describe the configuration steps involved in frsip and on Linphone, a free soft phone client that supports video and voice on Windows platform. Efforts have been made to support Linphone under frsip in particularly the video aspect of it. Video call between Polycom VVX1500 and Linphone is proven to work under frsip UC or above. Configuration on frsip Like any other soft client, you will need to create a User or a User with Extra Phone Set. The example below assumes you are creating an Extra Phone Set, however, the parameters are the same for a standard user. Ensure you select Own CPE / Linphone in the Equipment Type. This will automatically configure the SIP settings to support H.264 video and G711A and G711U codec. Note that HD voice codecs and G729A are not supported on Linphone and frsip will automatically strip away those codecs for you. Device Location: If your users are registering from the WAN to your UC switch s WAN IP, you will need to select Outside Network. 6 Display name will be the user s full name and can be left blank Your username is your Own CPE Username in the format of Extension-X Then click on the ADD button will prompt the box below Your SIP identity: The format is sip: CPE Server IP If your username is 1000-A and your server IP is , then you would fill in sip:1000-a@ SIP Proxy Address: sip: Your Server IP e.g. sip: Click OK Then you will be prompt to enter your Own CPE Password Enter the Own CPE Password that you were given by frsip and click OK. are ready to make calls! 7 1. Disable all the codecs except G722, PCMU and PCMA. 2. Ensure you enable and move the G722 codec all the way up to the top by selecting it and pressing the ENABLE button follow by the UP button. 3. If you are running Linphone on Mac OSX, you have completed your configuration. press DONE 4. 9 Making Your Phone Call Before you can place a call, make sure you select your SIP identity to be the one with your server s IP. For example, if the server IP is , please select the identity showing Enabling Video (For Windows Only) If you have a webcam installed on your computer, make sure it is not currently in use by other applications such as Skype or MSN.
