JOB TITLE: WATER TRUCK DRIVER, FRESH WATER DRIVERS AND PRODUCTION WATER DRIVERS JOB SUMMARY: UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF TRUCK SUPERVISOR & DISPATCHER THE WATER TRUCK DRIVER HAULS LOADS OF WATER FROM VARIOUS LOCATIONS AND TRANSFERS OIL BETWEEN LOCATIONS. S/HE ALSO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SPILL CLEANUP ON LOCATIONS. S/HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE OF ALL EQUIPMENT ASSOICATED WITH THE WATER TRUCKS SUCH AS HOSES AND FITTING, VAC AND BOWIE PUMPS, AND FOR ASSURING THAT EQUIPMENT WORKS CORRECTLY. S/HE ACCURATELY GAUGES BOTH OIL AND WATER TANKS WHEN HAULING WATER OR TRANSFERRING OIL. S/HE MUST COMPLETE ALL PAPERWORK INCLLUDING WATER TICKETS, VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORTS (PER DOT REGULATIONS), AND DRIVER S DAILY LOGS (PER DOT REGULATION) DAILY. S/HE MUST HAVE INTERMEDIATE KNOWLEDGE OF FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER DOT REGULATIONS, HAZMAT REGULATIONS, AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES AS THEY PERTAIN TO FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS. PRINCIPAL DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): 1. Safely operate water truck to haul loads of water from various locations and transfer oil between locations. Must evaluate the daily load hauling schedule to figure out the most efficient route to follow when going to locations. 2. Accurately gauge both oil and water tanks when hauling water transferring oil on a daily basis. Fills out tickets at locations as well as at the disposal to report how many bbls, were hauled/transferred. 3. Assure that paperwork such as timesheets, water tickets, and records of loads hauled/transferred are completed accurately and forwarded to supervisor daily. 4. Assure that trucks are maintained and in good working condition. Must fill out Driver s Vehicle Inspection Report (per DOT Regulations) daily. Must keep vac pump greased and oiled, keep bowie pump greased, check oil, tires, hoses and fitting daily. Notify supervisor of all problems immediately and perform minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs as necessary.
2 5. Must complete Vehicle Inspection Report and Driver s Daily Log each day and forward to supervisor at the end of the day (per DOT regulations). 6. Production Water Drivers assist in cleanup of spills on locations as directed by supervisor. 7. Assist other team drivers whenever necessary. 8. Must be willing to work overtime. 9. Dependable attendance, no unauthorized absences. 10. Attend all required safety meetings. 11. Responsible for conducting all field activities safely and accurately. Responsible for operating and maintaining all company equipment and property within the Safe Operating Standards Handbook guidelines. 12. Other duties as required by supervisor. Skilles Required Must have a Class A /or B Commercial Drivers License with tanker and hazmat endorsements depending on the type of vehicle being driven. Meet company and DOT driving standards (frequently required to drive in all weather conditions). Detailed oriented; accurate record keeping. Mechanical knowledge of separators; must know whether or not they have been blown down and how to blow down separator. Basic mechanical skills to work on the trucks. Average reading and writing ability to read location directions and prepare tickets and reports accurately. Good organizational skills to complete, organize, and forward water tickets, vehicle inspection reports, and drivers daily logs in a timely manner; also, to plan most efficient route to follow when picking up loads. 2
3 Physical Requirement Ability to regularly climb stairs on 10, 15 and 20 foot production tanks, or 10 ladder on Frac tanks. Frequent exposure to numerous oil field chemicals, including but not limited to, methanol, caustic, paraffin inhibitor, scale inhibitor, diesel, chemicals, crude oil and petroleum products. May occasionally do heavy lifting (up to 80lbs). Exhibit strength (lift lbs) and the ability to react quickly (running, ducking, lunging). Consistently exposed to all types of weather conditions for long periods of time (four hours or more). Ability to consistently hear loud voices over loud background noise. Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend and lift up to 25lbs (files or documents). Overtime may be required. Ability to regularly work in a potentially dangerous and fast-paced environment. Educational Requirements High school diploma preferred Minimum of one year truck driving experience Complexity of Duties: Ability to differentiate between minor and major problems, notifying Water Truck Supervisors, Water Truck Pushers and Dispatcher whenever necessary. Ability to understand and adhere to all company, state, and federal field and safety polices. Basic knowledge of county roads to find locations. Intermediate knowledge of Federal Motor Carrie DOT regulations. 3
4 Intermediate knowledge of DOT hazmat regulations. Intermediate knowledge of emergency response functions as they pertain to flammable liquids.
