39 HAFENCITY WEST: SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CENTRAL HEATING SUPPLY Central Heating Supply Objectives (2002): secured supply low price high energy efficiency CO 2 -Benchmark: below200 g/kwh: target value 175 g/kwh Mix of Technologies: district heating solar heating fuel cells Result: Reduction of emmissions by central heating supply and CO2 limits. Reduction of CO2 emissions by 27% compared to natural gas use (even larger reductions possible compared to oil or coal use)
