11 Luxury Living At Kicheche Camps Kicheche s bush hideaways welcome you to a world centred at the heart of the African wilderness in Kenya s finest conservancies in Masai Mara. A world of bounteous animals, amazing birdlife, sweeping grass lands, flat-topped acacias and breathtaking sunsets. ACCOMMODATION Kicheche Bush Camp is a small, intimate, luxury tented camp completely unfenced, amongst whistling thorn acacias. Spacious luxury tents, fully insect-proof, with en-suite bathrooms and a flushing toilet, running cold water and hot safari showers. Solar power is provided 24 hours to your tent and the comfortable verandah chairs are perfect to relax in and offer great views over the game-filled plains. Well-furnished lounge and dining tent are also part of the living space, although mealtimes are generally alfresco. Staying in a bush camp does not mean compromising on comfort; the food and services offered are first class, as are the warmth and expertise of Kicheche staff, making your safari holiday unforgettable. LOCATION Kicheche Bush Camp is located in the Masai Mara within the Olare Motorogi Conservancy bordering the Reserve. This area offers an incomparable game viewing experience away from the crowds since it is a private conservancy with strict limits on guest numbers. The camp is located in a prime wildlife area and game viewing starts at your doorstep. The location is also ideal to enjoy the wildebeest migration. 14 Lake Nakuru Lodge On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. The ecological diversity, varied habitats and picturesque ridges is known as the bird watchers paradise and is one of the best places to observe the Rhinos. The lodge offers accommodation in spacious deluxe rooms, with en-suite bathrooms, permanent showers, and great views of the park, garden or lake.

15 Game Drives & Safari Experience Early morning and late afternoon are the most productive hours for wildlife viewing and rare encounters while, night drives in and around the private conservancy will be exciting and extraordinary. Watching wildlife at close range, but without encroaching on their space, is endlessly fascinating and the Masai guides instincts and experience of your tour leader will provide fantastic photo opportunities of wild animals. You can also go on escorted walks on the savannah with your tour leader who will interpret or point out the spoor of a leopard, the nest of a rare bird or look for signs of any recent wildlife movements with the help of the local guide. Vehicles & Guides The jeeps used for game drives are open sided Land Cruisers that offer the ultimate in flexibility whilst shooting. There are two roof hatches or an open roof for higher vantage points or you can shoot through the open sides. Bean bags are provided on request. For complete flexibility, the safari jeeps are booked on an exclusive use basis for all day unlimited quests. We deal with Masai guides who are experienced in working with different photographers. Our guides not only have the most up to date knowledge on where to locate fauna but they are also used to their habits and behaviour. Land Cruiser jeeps will be used at Lake Nakuru as well while, early morning and evening safari expeditions are included.

16 In Search Of The Mountain Gorillas Tour Extension The Volcanoes National Park is home to approximately half of the worlds remaining population of the, critically endangered, Mountain Gorilla. There are seven groups of habituated mountain gorillas in the park, and trekking in the Volcanoes to see these graceful giants in their natural habitat is an experience of a lifetime for wildlife enthusiasts. ACCOMMODATION Individual cottages at The Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is spacious, with plain plastered walls and are simply but comfortably furnished. Each has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Being at altitude, it can get cold therefore each cottage has a fire in the room. The bar and the restaurant is a common area for all guests whilst the lodge is placed in a scenic location. LOCATION Located in the northwest of Rwanda, residing high in the mist of the Volcanoes National Park (Parc National de Volcans), the primates have found sanctuary among the dark green, dense vegetation of the park. This stunning area protects five of the nine staggeringly beautiful Virunga Mountains, each characterized by steep slopes that are blanketed in thick green, tropical rainforest. The lodge is located around 15 minutes away from the main headquarters of Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park, this makes it the ideal place to launch the mountain Gorilla trek and the Golden Monkey trail. THE TREK Here you will encounter a 400 lb Silverback, or mother caring for her young as they show off right in front of you. Only a group of eight guests will set out in search of a particular troop of Gorillas as assigned. We use the best guides who, with their expert knowledge and tracking abilities, are there to lead you in your quest to find these endearing creatures in their natural habitat. On request, we can pre arrange a trail to watch the Golden Monkeys just before we wrap up our journey with memorable encounters.

17 Specialist Knowledge Tour Leader for the African Safari Experience CHITRAL JAYATILAKE He is an avid nature photographer whose passion to position Sri Lanka as a wildlife tourism destination facilitated several In- ternational productions on the local natural world including Discovery Channel, BBC-National History Unity, BBC Ocean and Nat Geo. Chitral published his work thrice and exhibited his images in eight exhibitions in Sri Lanka and in the United Kingdom. Chitral s efforts to firmly establish sustainable wildlife tourism has won him the President s award for wildlife tourism and the prestigious John Keells Chairman s award. On a quest to explore more, he has discovered several outbound destinations to go beyond local National Parks and rainforests with the team of naturalists at Nature Trails to offer unique, once in a lifetime holiday experiences around the globe. Tour Leader for the Mountain Gorilla Experience VIMUKTHI WEERATUNGA A Wildlife and Fisheries biologist by training, graduated with a BSc from the Oregon State University, USA Vimukthi is an all-rounder when it comes to flora and fauna. He was trained at the Wildlife Institute of India on wildlife management and was selected for Beahrs environmental leadership programme at the University of California, Berkeley. His expertise and knowledge on endemic birds, mammals, am- phibians, and floristic regions is incomparable. Vimukthi was also part of the Wild Sri Lanka documentary film produced by Mike Birkhead Associate of UK for National Geographic channel as a scientific advisor. Vimukthi is the author of many scientific and research articles, a wildlife study on Wilpattu National Park and is a well establish lecturer on wildlife aspects throughout the country.
