1 DIGITAL RADIO CONTROLLED WATCH INSTRUCTIONS (USA) Your Radio Controlled Watch incorporates a highly sensitive radio receiver. It recalls the U.S. Atomic Clock The official U.S. time that governs ship movements, radio stations, space flights, and warplanes. (which measures each second of time as 9,192,631,770 vibrations of a cesium 133 atom in a vacuum) and give time which is accurate to 1 second every million years. Your Radio Controlled Watch even account automatically for daylight saving time, leap years, and leap seconds. For more details about the U.S. Atomic Clock, please visit Automatic Time Setting Your B.A.T. radio controlled watch recalls the U.S. Atomic Clock automatically at 3:00am every night. (local time) which synchronizes with the WWVB time/date broadcast signal from Fort Colins, CO. Reception Status: If the reception was successful, the tower icon will remain on all day. It will automatically search at 3:am the next day to update again. If the reception was not successful, the tower icon will be off which means that the signal was not received at 3:am. It will automatically search at 3:am the next day to try to update itself again. (Note: you may try to manually search for the signal between automatic searches).
6 Manual Signal Search: Press and hold the (S1) button to activate the signal receiver (tower icon begins to flash for up to 10 minutes). Do not press any buttons during the signal search time. Signal Strength: During the search mode, if the tower only displays the lower triangle portion of the icon, the reception area is low and it is best to move to a different location and retry. If the tower displays both the lower triangle and the wave signals of the icon, the reception area is stronger. However, may not insure that the watch successfully receives the signal, as there may have been some interference during transmission. Time Change Adjustment If the watch receives the signal at 3:00am during the fall or spring time change, it will automatically adjust to the correct time. During daylight savings time, each time the signal is received, the sun icon will also be displayed with the tower. (Note: If you live in an area that does not observe the daylight savings time change, you will have to manually change the time zone setting ahead one time zone at this feature cannot be turned off). TROUBLESHOOTING: At times your watch may be placed in a position where signal reception becomes difficult due to interference. Interference can be due to electrical appliances such as a TV, refrigerators, computers, fluorescent lamps or natural events such as thunderstorms. It is important that you do not leave your watch on a metallic surface and keep away from any sources of electromagnetic interference. If you continue to have unsuccessful signal reception, you may want to place your watch near a window where it shows a strong reception signal (facing Colorado). The signal will usually be received during the early morning hours when the signal reception is the strongest. CARE OF YOUR WATCH
