1 Table of Contents Importing Cases/Matters Importing Names & Addresses
2 CINcompass is your single-source solution for all your practice needs Transfer your cases and client data into CINcompass to eliminate multiple software tools. Follow a few steps to begin streamlining your practice. To begin you will need to use the CINcompass Export Tool to convert your EZ-Filing client files and creditor list for use with CINcompass. To ensure a clean transfer of data, it is highly recommended you first verify some key data points. Guidelines and Recommendations for Transfer: 1. Before proceeding with importing in EZ-Filing please go to Help and click Check for Updates to install the latest release. 2. Transfer only Active cases. 3. Verify each case prior to export. 4. After exporting cases, you must open Form B22 and Employer Detail and click save. 5. If you decide not to integrate form B22 payroll with schedule I employment in EZ-Filing then the Employed field data will not import. Please review Schedule I to ensure your income and expense are accurate. 6. To ensure exact duplication of data, manual editing may be required. 7. EZ-Filing will inform you of any potential issues at the end of the import process. Only EZ-Filing Version 20 Client Files and Names & Addresses can be exported. If you are using an earlier version of EZ-Filing, please contact Customer Support for assistance at Import EZ-Filing Data into CINcompass
3 Step 1: Data Configuration in EZ-Filing Verify the following data fields in EZ-Filing prior to export: 1. Bankruptcy Chapter Required field z A chapter type must be identified for a client file to be transferred. z To locate this field go to the Voluntary Petition, select the Case Info tab. 2. Liabilities Creditor Name Required z A creditor name must be entered in Liabilities. z Open Liabilities, select creditors to ensure the Name field is completed. 3. Exhibit C z If the phrase: Debtor owns or has possession of property that poses or is alleged to pose a threat to public health or safety, is checked in the Voluntary Petition, the 1) and 2) boxes must be completed in Exhibit C. 4. Character Length Limit of 40 z The length of characters cannot exceed 40. z Confirm that all names and addresses for clients and creditors do not exceed this limit in: z Liabilities z SOFA z Voluntary Petition 5. Using EZ-Filing V. 18 Contact Customer Support for Assistance z To export V.18 Client files to CINcompass, you must convert your client files to V.20 first. Step 2: Data Configuration in CINcompass Next you must identify and activate key items in CINcompass to ensure a clean import. Verify and activate the following in CINcompass: 1. Login Verification z Confirm your CINcompass username and password by logging in at 2. Jurisdiction Activation z Before importing EZ-Filing client files, activate all required Jurisdictions you file in. z To activate a jurisdiction in CINcompass: z Click on the Admin Tool z Select Bankruptcy Settings z Choose Manage Jurisdictions z Select the Active Jurisdictions tab z Now you may activate new jurisdictions by using the Add button 2014 CINgroup
4 3. USPS Address Validation Activation z All addresses for client file(s) will be imported as Do not correct. When this box is checked the CINcompass USPS Address Validation will not attempt to validate and revise the imported address. To override this selection, uncheck the Do not correct box and CINcompass validates the address. Step 3: Update EZ-Filing and setup CINcompass account information 1. Update EZ-Filing Complete a Check for Update z Open EZ-Filing z Click on the Help tab z Click Check for Updates z Install the EZ-Filing update 2. Enter CINcompass Account Information Set up for Export z Click on the System tab z Select Preferences z Click Export to CINcompass z Enter the following information: z User Name: CINcompass login z Password: CINcompass password z Click Ok! NOTE: CINcompass Export is located in the Preferences section. Under Options, scroll to the bottom of list and click Export to CINcompass. 4 Import EZ-Filing Data into CINcompass
5 Step 4: Export EZ-Filing Client Files Next you need to select the Client files you wish to export to CINcompass.! NOTE: You should only export client files you are prepared to review and work on. Do not export all of your client files. RECOMMENDATION: Before using the CINcompass Export Tool, open the files in EZ-Filing and run a Diagnostic Report and print all forms and schedules for each client. You will also use the printed forms after import to verify the imported data. Export Client Files from EZ-Filing: 1. Select File. 2. Click on CINcompass Export. 3. Select Case/Matter.! NOTE: Case/Matter will select cases for transefer. 4. In the Export window, select the Office Location to which you wish to Export your Client File(s) to in CINcompass.! NOTE: If you have multiple office locations you will have to repeat these steps for each location. 5. Check the box next to the Client File(s) you wish to Export. 6. Click the Export button. 7. Review the Disclaimer and Click Continue. 8. Track the progress of client file(s) being exported CINgroup
6 9. If you wish to export client file documents, such as Payment Advices or Exhibit D Certification, click Yes. 10. You will receive a confirmation message of how many client file(s) were exported successfully. 11. Click OK. 12. In the status overview, items marked in green have successfully been exported to CINcompass. 6 Import EZ-Filing Data into CINcompass
7 13. Click on the print icon to see Export Results Report. Step 5: Verify Data Imported into CINcompass Next open the transferred clients in CINcompass and review the imported information. Review data in CINcompass 1. Log into CINcompass. 2. Locate Recent Matters. 3. Open desired matter. 4. Review the imported Matter(s). 5. Open Form B22 and Employer Detail and click Save. 6. If you decide not to integrate form B22 payroll with schedule I employment in EZ-Filing then the Employed field data will not import. 8 EZ-Filing Version 20 Names and Addresses List Import Now you can maintain all your Names & Addresses in CINcompass with the CINcompass Export Tool. Once your Contacts are imported, you may link them with existing or new matters, and take advantage of all the communication tools CINcompass has to offer. Step 1: Data Configuration in EZ-Filing Verify the Following Data Fields in EZ-Filing Prior to Export: 1. Name and Addresses Required fields z A complete first and last name or all address fields are required to transfer contacts and locations Step 2: Convert the Name and Address List! NOTE: All Names & Addresses will be imported as Standard Contacts. Export Name and Addresses from EZ-Filing: 1. Under the File tab, select CINcompass Export. 2. Select Names and Addresses. 3. The Export Names & Addresses to CINcompass window will open. 4. Items marked in green have already been exported to CINcompass. 8 Import EZ-Filing Data into CINcompass
9 5. Check the box next to the names and addresses you wish to export. 6. Click the Export button. 7. Track the progress of your Contact Export with the green progress bar. 8. Click on the print icon to see Export Results Report. Step 5: Verify Data Imported into CINcompass Once you have imported your Name and Addresses List into CINcompass, you can login and review the imported information. Review imported contacts in CINcompass: 1. Log into CINcompass. 2. Select the Contacts tab. 3. Click on Standard Contacts. 4. Review the imported contact(s) CINgroup
