3 Getting Started with EZ-Filing Installing EZ-Filing is a quick and easy process. If you ve already downloaded the demo version of EZ-Filing, you will be provided a Customer ID to use for registration. Install EZ-Filing on the desktop 1. Click on the first and second link in the EZ-Filing Installation Information that will be sent to you by your CIN sales representative 2. Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard. EZ-Filing automatically saves to the C: DRIVE in a new Program Files (x86)\ezf subfolder Install EZ-Filing on a network 1. Click on the first and second link in the EZ-Filing Installation Information 2. Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard but replace your network drive letter for the C: drive in the destination directory box 3. From each workstation, create a shortcut from the desktop that points to the EZF\EZ- Filing.exe file on your network drive. 4 To upgrade your EZ-Filing demo to a licensed version To unlock EZ-Filing with your unique Customer ID registration information, open EZ-Filing, click the HELP button in the top right corner, and then click UPGRADE LICENSE. Enter the Customer ID information exactly as it appears in the you received. Safeguard your customer identification number Your customer identification number can only be used by your law firm. 5 Overview of EZ-Filing Guidelines for Preparing a Petition In addition to all the Federal Bankruptcy Forms required to be filed with the petition, EZ-Filing software includes all the tools necessary to create any bankruptcy document, including a powerful built-in text editor and a set of merge fields for commonly used information which eliminate repetitive data entry. 1. Create Create a new case Click File NEW CLIENT to create a client file. All files are housed in the EZ-Manage Window which gives attorneys a global view of all cases including case status and filing type. DOUBLE CLICK ON THE DESIRED CLIENT FILE to access the Client and Case Forms Menu and begin preparing the petition. EZ-Manage Window: Client management features in EZ-Filing make it easy to access files. Filter cases with the drop down menu to easily view and retrieve specific cases CINgroup. All Rights Reserved

6 2. Enter Enter case data The Client Menu contains all entry screens for a particular case. They are organized in the specified order of completion starting with the Case Info but can be filled out in any order. 7 3. Complete Complete the means test CLICK FORM 22 to access the EZ-Filing Means Test Calculator. Enter the required data, calculate current monthly income and run various means test scenarios for a client. Based on the data entered, the Means Test Calculator determines if a Presumption of Abuse exists and if necessary, prompts you to enter additional information CINgroup. All Rights Reserved

8 4. Print Print case data The Case Forms Menu is dynamically configured to display the forms applicable for your particular case. They are organized in the specified order of completion starting with the Voluntary Petition. DOUBLE CLICK ON ANY FORM to print preview CINgroup. All Rights Reserved

9 5. File Electronically file a case In just a few clicks, populated forms are created in the proper format and uploaded to the Court s website. Once submitted, a confirmation is sent with a case number. It s that simple.
