1 dubai The Empty Quarter The Empty Quarter Made famous by Thesiger, the Empty Quarter makes up one of the world s most extreme environments. Exploring the Omani end of the Rub Al Khali,the trip begins and ends in Dubai, facilitating Dubai s status as a convenient, international hub. There is an option for expedition-style travel through the Empty Quarter to be guided by Urbane Nomads Hajar Ali, the first woman to cross the Empty Quarter.

2 1 Dubai Arrival and pickup at the airport. There s no better base for the start of your trip than the fashionable Park Hyatt Dubai. Shop for gold in Dubai s gold souks- the start of an elaborate shopping itinerary through the Middle East. Venture into the art district of Bastakiya- the fancy, artsy enclave situated in Old Dubai, before taking an evening cruise(on old boats) on Dubai Creek. 2 Muscat Transfer to Muscat. Be transferred to the Chedi Muscat with its fashionably Orientalist design. Relax by the pools or dine by the fantastically romantic beachside restaurant at night(dinner not included). 3 Salalah Transfer to Salalah. A day s tour includes the Salalah museum, where you will find the findings of the archeological expedition of Ubar, which is the alleged site of Iram, the Atlantis(desert) of the desert. Salalah, on the frankincense route presents an opportunity to shop for frankincense and oud. A pretty town with the friendliest people, it is a great base before your trip into the Empty Quarter. 3 4-7 Empty quarter Spend a few days in the Empty Quarter, contemplating the silence of the desert and a possible intimation as to the number of religions that have originated here. You ll be based in luxury mobile camps- spacious tents Egyptian cotton sheets, attentive staff bearing cold, refreshing towels, daily sundowners and colourful cushions and discrete loo tents - improbable luxury in the Empty Quarter Abu Dhabi Transfer back to Salalah and onward flight back to Abu Dhabi. Be greeted at the airport in Abu Dhabi and transferred to Anantara Qasr Al Sarab, a luxury resort situated in the UAE end of the Empty Quarter. 11 dubai Transfer back to Dubai, this time staying away from the city at Desert Palm, a treat for horse and polo lovers. Other options include the Banyan Tree Ras Al Khaimah or Al Maha. Options Another expedition through the UAE end of the Empty Quarter can be arranged, departing (or ending at) Anantara Qasr Al Sarab. 6 Total Price (Indicative Only): USD11506 pp Prices are based on twin sharing, minimum four to go and includes all transfers and Dubai-Muscat and Salalah-Abu Dhabi international flights as well as transfers to and from Anantara Qasr Al Sarab. Price includes: All domestic transfers and tours mentioned. Accommodation on bed and breakfast basis throughout with the exception of the Empty Quarter where it is on a full board basis. 7 Important Notes Trip Grading/Difficulty: This itinerary is done at a relaxed pace, with no strenuous or overtly physical activities and is suitable for all ages. Flights: It is essential that you give us your air schedule at least 60 days prior to departure, so that we may confirm your arrival and departure hotels. Health: You are strongly advised to contact your own GP or vaccination centre in respect of required vaccinations for Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Oman. Check on recommended immunizations as least a month before travel. Among the items you might pack are: sun creams (factor 12 and above), insect repellent, sting relief cream, antiseptic cream, a lightweight hat and sunglasses. Important Note: While we endeavor to make the itinerary as accurate as possible, it should be considered an approximate schedule of activities rather than a rigid schedule of events. Trip itineraries are subject to revision due to weather, road and trail conditions, government restrictions and other factors beyond our control.

8 Booking Conditions Booking your tailor-made holiday: A booking is accepted only after we receive the completed signed booking form and/or the non-refundable deposit required. If the booking is made within 60 days of departure, then full payment is required at the time of confirmation except over the Christmas & New Year period when the full itinerary amount must be made at the time of booking. The balance of payment due for your travel arrangements must bepaid by you not later than 60 days before departure; otherwise we may treat the booking as cancelled. Methods of payment: Payments for deposits and final monies for Travel Arrangements may be made by bank transfer. Cancellation: All cancellations must be advised in writing and will take effect the day we receive it. Urbane Nomads refunds all recoverable costs after cancellation, subject to third-party cancellation and refund policies and a USD500 administration and travel planning fee. In some cases hotels require prepayment in full for hotel rooms and services in the peak period. In such cases these deposits are non refundable. Travel Insurance It is a condition of booking the Travel Arrangements that You are adequately insured for the full duration of the your travel arrangements in respect of illness, injury, death, loss of baggage and personal items, cancellation and curtailment. The choice of insurer is the sole discretion of You. In signing the Booking Form or paying for your holiday you confirm to us that you either have or will have procured such insurance before the commencement of your travel arrangements.
